Watching the hand over of the Olympic flag to the Mayor of London, I noticed that the Mayor was dressed like a tramp in a very ill fitting suit that was not even buttoned up. On stage in front of millions he did not know what to do with his hands and put them into his jacket pockets. Realizing his mistake he took them out and stood to attention like a small kid!!!

God help us all for the next Olympics.

  1. You're worried about a politician because of his wardrobe and nervous habits? ... Really, there are much worse faults to have. I would prefer a leader to be incompetent in dress instead of being hopeless at his job.

You would have hated Abe Lincoln.

  2. That is so funny because my mum wouldn't stop going on about how bad he looked but it was pretty funny when he didn't do his suit up and then put his hands in his pockets! I was so embarassed for him because he looked like such a dag beside the neat chinese officials!

  3. My first impression of him was that he was drunk!  He looked so unkempt, I couldn't believe that this man would go on worldwide television with his suit unbuttoned and his hair so out of control.  I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this!  My mom couldn't believe that he was the person who represented London.  They should've just used David Beckham. :-)

  4. I would agree to the extent that he looked awkward. But imagine yourself in his shoes. He is just the mayor of a city, and he is placed in a huge arena, in front of the eyes of the world. You are obviously going to be nervous and do stupid things. It's the Olympics for heavens sakes, we are supposed to celebrate the bringing of people together for sport...not criticizing a person for how they acted under pressure. I am sure that 2012 games in London will be great.
