Afterall if his version of events on the nighht of May 3rd 2007 is true, it pretty well destroys everything the Mc Canns have placed in the public eye through Clarence Mitchell. Not only does he destroy the Mc Cann`s credibility, but he also destroy`s David Payne`s and Jane Tanner`s. One feels they really have to sue, because if they don`t sue than that will suggest that Amaral is telling the truth. Won`t it?

  1. I think they probably will sue.

This man is making a lot of money out of that poor girls disappearance.

So the McCanns will be jealous................THAT'S THEIR JOB.

  2. i don't think he should be sued, he should have his arrse kicked for being a drunken incompetent idiot......then having the nerve to write a book about it

  3. I hope that they do, and he is out to make money from a sensationlist book that already looks to be discredited.

Besides which the courts have exonerated the parents, so in the eyes of the law they are not guilty.

  4. Are you kicking off this mindless speculation again ?

  5. Considering Mr Amaral is facing perjury charges and was sacked for his incompetence over the McCanns case both by his own police force he is not a very creditable person to believe. Yes I think they will sue and I also think they will win yet AGAIN

  6. I'm not sure there is anything the McCanns can sue him for.  His book recounts how the investigation progressed, what the PJ were told, and why the PJ began to suspect the McCanns or why they THOUGHT they might be guilty.  It is a factual account.

However if they did decide to sue would they have to sue in Portugal or could they do it from UK?   As the book was printed and published in Portugal by a Portugese national, I would have thought they would have to sue through the Portugese courts.    And I simply CANNOT see the McCanns doing that.    I can't see them ever returning to Portugal again, it's too risky for them.  I think if they ever set foot on Portugese soil they could very well be charged with neglect, and they know that.

  7. Who cares? Yawn.

  8. I absolutely agree with you. I hope they sue and I wouldn`t mind betting that is what Amaral and the Portuguese police would like too.

  9. Only they can consider that for themselves. If you keep on with these questions they may sue you.

  10. I know who I would rather  believe, a long serving, experienced, honest policeman, or a couple of cold, uncaring self centred people !

  11. No they wont sue, too much evidence against them..

Just like the whole Rebecca Loos - Beckham thing!!

  12. Impossible! The book is basically based on facts described on official documents.

  13. Not unless they think they can get an out of court settlement!

  14. I hope they do! can't wait to see it go to court, as nothing will stop the facts being revealed then! I don't really see they have a choice, being 'innocent' and all!!!

  15. Actually, don`t you think they are rather between a rock & a hard place. ( about time too )

They know that in order to ( try to ) look innocent they need to sue, but if that means going into any court of law, here or Portugal, I can`t see it happening as we all know what would very likely happen to them, don`t we?

  16. Like always we will hear comments by their puppet Clarence that their lawyers are studying the book to see how they can sue, this could drag on for ages. A red herring in my opinion.

The only reason they ever speak out via Clarence is to gain sympathy votes.

Also I am sure Mr Calvaro has alreay thought of this and has covered his back, don't you?
