Do you think the NY cab driver are right by striking?

I think they are doing the right thing. Why should the city make a law that they must take credit cards and have a GPS installed in their cabs.? This is some more of that big business B/S that the Repubs are so proud of.

  1. #1 GPS would make it fair for both the CAB Driver and the patron.

However, this is an added cost, so the rates must go up to absorb the increased cost of service.

#2 Credit cards will increase the amount of business to cab drivers.

However this is an added cost, and rates are going to go up.

I think the cab drivers are right for striking, especially if they have to keep their rates at a certain point and then have to absorb this extra business cost.

Maybe Wallmart should do cabs, then we'll get crappy service, in a Yugo with a still average price structure.

  2. The city can make whatever laws it wants.  If they don't like it, they can get a job somewhere else.

  3. well, yes and no... if they strike it will force everyone to use mass transit: Public transportation and if they don't they have to comply with new rules and reg... It is a no win battle for them... I think that it is wrong but then again look who is mayor he is not helping with the cost of it...

  4. GPS could make sense; if the government pays for it.  On the other hand, the credit card thing is BS; why should they have to take money that way?  Just let them take cash!
