  1. I think they will be great "overseers," and most likely have already jimmied up some of the competition runs.  The smog is pretty bad there and they are trying clean it up. Lots of ruck!  Some of the athletes are taking that into consideration.  The Chinese will serving bottled water because much of its water is polluted.  They don't want to take a chance of anyone getting sick.  Were you thinking of terrorism?  I think it's highly possible.

  2. Disaster.  I feel bad for the athletes but I think that is what the IOC gets for awarding it to them.

  3. yes i know what you mean, i think it will be all political and be a disaster.

  4. i hope so.

they've already screwed up a lot of things before the games, like the pollution and the hotel situation.

with a centrally planned economy the buck always stops at the chinese communist party, and it will be solely their fault if things go wrong, but they will never ever admit fault to anything...

  5. disaster for who/

  6. Total disaster.

For the fist time in over a quarter of a Century I will not be watching any of it on tv.  I actually feel good that I won't see any of it live. I am looking forward to who gets caught for drugs first do. I have a bet in the bookies of the time and event from where the first positive drug result arrives.

  7. No, but it won't be as successful as the other Olympics have been in the last 25 years.

  8. Just pray they do'nt have a major fire!

  9. I hope its gonna be great, but you are never really sure. I will pray for the best, since the world is already in freakin shambles and there is enough bad things and violence already, I don't get why people like to encourage more bad things.

  10. No it wont be a disaster. BUT there is always the possibility that there will be protests something like Tienanmen Square will happen. Hopefully they will realize that the world is watching.

Just as a side note, the Asian cultures are so far removed from the European and American cultures that some of the things they do don't seem right, like they don't respect the lives of people, but that is their culture, and you cannot turn back 5000 years of culture in a couple of decades.
