they are 17 wins away with 28 games left and they have been putting more distance between them and the RedSox and Yankees rather than losing ground. They don't show signs of slumping either. They have won every series since the all star break, 10 in a row and that's with 3 key players out with injuries. They are obviously for real. They have the best record in the AL and 2nd best in baseball. I feel sure they will break the 100 mark easily.

  1. Cubs and Rays win 100 games, and play each other in the world series

  2. if they stay on this pace they should have just around  103 wins

  3. They should get there unless during the last week or two they rest there best starters because of the playoffs. No matter how many they win the Rays and Angels are going to have a great ALCS battle.

  4. yes they will man im a jays fan personally and they kiled us 2 outta 3 im positive they will! but then again remember that year the tigers had 2 years ago. well maybe tampa is having those years u never know.

  5. Let's go through their schedule.  Today (Aug 31st) they play the Orioles.  That is a win, 16 to go.

Next they host the NY Yankees for 3 games.  Let's be pessemistic and say the Rays win 2 out of 3, 14 left.

After that the Rays go on a 9 game road trip to Toronto, Boston and New York.  Let's say they go 5 - 4 on that (2 - 1 in Toronto, 1 - 2 in Boston, 2 - 1 in NY), 9 left.

Following that trip they have 7 at home vs Boston and Minnesota.  I would predict the Rays go 2 - 1 vs Boston and conservatively say 2 - 2 vs the Twins.  That leaves them at 95 wins, 5 short of 100.

Finally they end the season with an 8 game road trip, 4 @ Baltimore (including a double-header) and 4 at Detroit.  Tampa should go 3 - 1 against the Orioles, and 3 - 1 against the Tigers.  Lets say they only split against the Tigers (2 - 2).  That would get them right at 100 wins.

  6. They'll be close if they don't get there. It seems crazy that we're talking about the Rays possibly having 100 wins.

  7. If they do ill shoot someone. the rays suddenly desided to be good because they got new everything. i live in tampa and you wouldnt imagine how many rays fans started popping out of nowhere! the red sox can still win this.

    GO RED SOX!!!!!!!

  8. I predict 98 Wins they won't go that far.

  9. I believe the Rays will win their division but come up a few games short of 100 wins.

  10. I predict 98 wins.

  11. Your analysis seems sound.  Mathematical approcah:  they are playing .620 ball. 28 games left.  62% of 28= 17.  17+83=100

  12. they have a lota road games left

    so i dont think so

    i hope not...

    GO SOX

  13. Yes because they have talent on both sides (they can hit home runs, and they can pitch very well too.If they keep that up they win 100 games this)

  14. I think the will do 102 wins

  15. Tampa has an excellent chance of winning 100. At 83-51, and with 28 games remaining, they would have to go 17-11 to finish with 100 wins. Not a far fetched goal for them by no means. Thats just 6 games over 500 ball, and already at 32 games over 500, it can easily happen.

They have beaten all the playoff caliber teams, including The Angels, and have had the best record within their division to this point. Many have waited for The Rays "to fall", but clearly this team is a force to be reckoned with, with an amazing, talented pitching staff, that has been ranked within top 7 all season long in Team ERA, and presently 2nd.  Their offense is steady, consistent, and even when they give up a bunch of runs, though not rare, their offense turns it up a notch and still records the win. With big wins against Boston, Chicago, Minny, and LA, they surely can make their first trip to The Series, and what a turnaround/story this will be/has become.
