  1. Yes, it should be done. NATO should deploy troops.

  2. I highly doubt the US will enter into a military fight against Russia - the relationship is severely strained as it is. It's clear that the US wants to end this peacefully. Bush has already called Dmitry Medvedev, saying that the strikes “mark a dangerous escalation in the crisis." However, Russia has brushed off calls for a ceasefire and will only exit if Georgia leaves South Ossetia.

However, I would not be surprised if sanctions were to be imposed on Russia.

I've been following the developments at Newser.com. They do a good job of summarizing the major articles about this story.

  3. I know we better not. Our finances have been depleted enough with the US sticking it's nose into Iraq's business. We don't need to interfere with every ones issues.

  4. Its possible I read that Georgia and US are allies. I am sure the president would prefer just to solve their conflicts around a meeting table. However if that is not possible how could we not go to the aid of a small country that Russia is attacking.

  5. In some way..but it should remain limited

  6. If Russia reaches the capital of Georgia, from what I've heard and understand, then yes, we will be forced to take some type of action.

  7. if we do i believe we all need to move to south america  because its going to get real hot , russia isn't a punk like iraq or iran they will get nasty

  8. Well, we can't.  We know how powerful Russia is, and we won't get involved, PER-SE, like helping Georgia.  We don't wanna re-create the cold war.  We don't wanna p**s Putin off.  We can let our frustrations be known, but we can't throw our arms up in the air and say "OH THIS IS THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!  RUSSIA YOU PISSED US OFF!!  YOU WILL PAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"  or anything like that.  We already have blamed Russia for the violence, but that's as far as we can go.  We just need to watch our asses, as far as Russia goes.  The cold war really never TOTALLY ended.  Russia still has weapons pointed at us.  We just need to be careful.

  9. The US is already involved,  theres alot that you dont even know about.

For those who dont know the united states is very much the most powerful country in the world and if you dont think the US wont stand up to Russia you better think again.  The Russians dont want a war with the US just as much as the US.  This is just a dispute over NATO and an example russia is trying to make out of georgia for other countries trying to join.  Whatever you hear otherwise is just a cover -up.

  10. no

  11. yes i do. the US govt has been involved since day one. who do you think started this war and all other wars for that matter? The US govt wants to make it seem like they are the peacemakers and the one who comes to the rescue. yeah right, peacemakers, more like money  makers!!

  12. Well we seem to stick our nose in wherever it doesn't belong in the first place. So why would this be any different?

I think we will. But I seriously hope not. We have other worries to deal with right now.

  13. we can't afford to right now.

  14. They're already involved. They sent a delegation to try to resolve the problem.

It makes me furious that the US believes that it's the king of this world.

  15. somehow. they are allies and the u.s hates russia.

  16. The US never lifts a finger if someone is likely to fight back - and Russia can.  The Yanks will stay under their rock.

  17. maybe
