  1. We already do in a way.

Many big stores in London accept them.

    BT payphones accept them

Small shops near ports and airports accept them.

I don't think it is a big deal.

I lived overseas when Britain went decimal in the early 1970's.

Most of my friends' children could not tell you what half a crown was or it's metric equivalent.

And how many people on this site mourn the loss of the groat?

It'll happen. And then we'll move on and the next generation will not be bothered by the discussion.

And  so on and so on.

  2. I think we might one day... but I do hope not! If the Conservatives win the next election we may not as they are against it but I can't tell what Gordon thinks about the matter.

  3. no i dont think so and i hope not 2

  4. Sadly Yes.....Eventually.

After all look at the Metric System. We had to adopt that in the end.....

  5. no, the British are heavily orignal and don't like to pick up on

otjher countries ideas.   The hurt  of  losing the empire , .... "where the sun never sets ...."  has made them

very protective of what remains .    If  the pounnd is solvent

now , why take any chances  .  If  people in  other countries

start using wheelbarrel  to go  the bank tomorrow ,  the british

won't have worry, becauses fertilizer should not store in a bank.  The understated country of gardeners.

  6. I'm quite happy as we are, but I think it's inevitable.

  7. Eventually yes but I hope its a long time coming.

  8. Yes eventually, it's economically the right thing. Not a popular view but then again, some people still think Britain has an empire.

  9. I hope not, I like the pound.
