the US dollar will gain depends on several factors; the main factors are higher GDP (which cause depreciation), higher interest rate (which cause appreciation), higher foreign interest rate (which cause depreciation), higher foreign GDP (which cause appreciation) and lastly demand for US goods in the world market; so the appreciation in the US dollar remain subjective

This is an interesting question, Here go my guessing: To the short term i guess the answer is no. Maybe in the future, but eventually the euro will be taking its position and the dollar will be even weaker, but I haven't got a crystal ball so I can be wrong.
