  1. Yes

  2. Just to clarify:

No, I don't think the US is discriminatory against all religion; as long as it's a Christian religion it seems to be okay.

Yes, I think US citizens discriminate against each other based on religion.

  3. NO.  The USA is one of the most religious countries in the world.  Tony Blair could not even dare to admit he was religious until he had left office as British PM.  In few countries beside the USA would the views of an obscure preacher make headlines, even if a candidate were attending his church.

OTOH, the USA has little tolerance for out of the mainstream religions and opinions, massacring (Branch Davidians) or child-stealing (RFLDS) at will.

Like much of life, not a simple yes or no.  Religion is forced down people's throats in many situations, but don't you dare be a Wiccan.

  4. Yes. Why else would there be a bible in every single hotel room and why would a courtroom witness have to swear on the bible, and why would every president need to be 'sworn' into office with a bible?

The first amendment was created as an idealistic clause for the nation, to be 'equal' and 'just' but we all know that's BS because the nation is crawling with all sorts of structural racism and prejudice. We all know the nation was founded by racist Christian white b******s, and was always intended to be run by those WASP guys.

P.S. I don't think the way you're conducting your survey is how your teacher/professor intended. The first thing about conducting a survey is you need randomization, meaning EVERY person in your population is equally likely to get chosen to participate in your survey. Asking on Yahoo Answers does not ensure that because (a) not everybody in the population owns a computer and even if they do (b) not everybody uses Yahoo Answers and even if they do (c) not everybody is likely to answer your question. I suppose my suggestion is randomly picking people out of the phone book and calling them up. Of course, some may refuse to answer or they may not be home, which poses problems too, but don't mind me. I just thought integrity would be important when conducting a research experiment =/
