  1. Not this guy. Powell would have done well, but I fear that whoever is the first black president will be a walking target. This country still has too many racists in it to do better. I just can't support Obama after seeing some of his speeches in which he openly attacked my religion. His Muslim past leaves me wondering what side of our little war he will come down on, despite what he says. His pastor's remarks threw me off early in the game. I'll never believe he sat in that church all that time and didn't know what that guy thought, which means he accepted it. Finally, why did he never want to vote when in the Senate? Why were all of his votes just "present"? He was not there to do that job, but it was just a stepping stone to the White House.

  2. I absolutely do!  He is more than just an African American.  He is a good hearted man with great ideas, and he is exactly what this country needs.

  3. I don't think it matters at all.  I DO think what matters is the candidate's platform, their ideas of how the country should be run.  That is all that anyone should consider and now that both parties have either race or gender, it really shouldn't count one bit, anymore than it did before Palin was chosen.  Stop playing the race game and play the who is best qualified for the job game.

  4. They're not ready for it, but it's the only rational choice this time.

I think it's a measure of Obama's ability that he's overcome the race issue so much - the man is amazing.

  5. I don't care. It's not such a big deal really.

  6. Why not. The US would be better under him than that nut job mc cain any day, and I live in the uk so it shouldn't even matter to me!

  7. If there are still enough people like you who feel that this is a viable question, then I doubt it. A person's race should be of NO importance whatsoever. What is his character? What is his experience? What is his vision? THESE are the germane questions!

  8. I'd vote for a qualified anti-socialist.

I don't care if he really was Muslim... if he knew what he was doing then I'd vote for him...

  9. Yes. Whether or not Obama is going to be the one is a different matter.

  10. It seems to be pissing the right wing Christians off no end.

(Meanwhile, it's the theory of evolution that's racist, apparently...)

  11. I think George W. Bush has prepared us for the worst.  I mean seriously can it be any worse than that guy, well besides Sarah Palin.....  she maybe worse.

African American has nothing to do with it at all.  He isn't the stereotypical black guy so to use that to judge him is just wrong.

  12. Yes , he is  ready to take this country by the horns and try and turn it around from the brink of chaos and self destruction  The fact he is half black has absolutely nothing to do with his leadership abliites or his integrity. McCain and Palin on the other hand are of low moral character , only want to  extend the war and killing of our young people and give take breaks to the rich. Take from Medicare and  Social Security. Mccain plans are to give a small tax reduction across the board to make him look good  then increase taxes for all middle income citizens. This is a very sneaky way of helping the rich again all the while claiming he is helping all Americans. It is all in this morning's Yahoo news under the heading > Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP Convention  > It is all lies If  we lied like this we would be locked up or at the very least sued! How can they stand there  and tell such bald faced lies to the American people? This is disgusting

  13. I'm not into politics. Don't concern me.

  14. it'll be ready

  15. I am not against an African-American President, but I am against the non-christian values that Obama stands by.

  16. Absolutely.

    Why wouldn't we be?

  17. No, I don't. The American people are not yet ready to be ruled over by a black man.

  18. We're practically starving for one this year. Even if Obama wasn't the extraordinarily capable man he is, just LOOK at the alternative!

  19. There is nothing wrong since America is the promised land.

  20. Things may look up when you get out of the bushes.

  21. Does the colour of his skin really matter?

  22. Not this one.  Maybe Steele or Swan.
