Look at the Olympic medal count. Where all other countries in this world rank by Gold except for US. Because the media wanted American to be Number 1. If this is what they are trying to do..... guess what. I am sure the media is hiding more things to ensure American stay on top of the world. The media is so biased but yet so powerful as most of the people will not think that way as they just blindly followed the media as this must be true because it's on the news.

However people failed to realize that all news and books are written by people and base on their own belief (Which are already corrupted). They will not always blend the truth but they will always show the negative side of the story instead of the real cause of event.

I find it funny when in a room of 100 people and 99 people of them are reading a book and 1 of them are not. So the 99 people think he should read a book as well. Why cant people just get a long ?

Really disappointed with America. I used to like America when I was a boy as it accelerate the ending of the WWII. They are like heroes to me. However this is not what i feel today. They will try to do anything to remain on the top of the world. The Olympic and recent events show it all.

Sometimes I wonder is the president of United States really work for the people of United States ? Or just merely wanted to become the president so that he can enjoyed all the benefits and power being the most powerful man in the world ?

America has lost its respect. Yes no doubt US has proven its military strength to the world many times (in IRAQ war). However the world only sees America as a big bully or a warmonger. Is this what the America trying to show to the world ?

Conquering another country (killing so many innocent people) and changing their culture and religion ? Is that what you America call freedom ? The Media is wrong by misleading the public but the government is the key to the fall of America.

America is run by greedy, money munching capitalists who only care about what profit they make, what countries they can invade, what oil they can soak up and what young minds they can corrupt to be the next 'them.' The only values the U.S government looked up to where power, smartly misleading the human race and spreading neo n**i right wing propaganda. You know what's so ******* discouraging? Half the human race believe this is how things are done- greed, manuplation of power role and killing for peace. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Let's distinguish between the power elite and the average American. The average American is being used and abused by corporate driven media and government. Clearly the media is a vastly superior propaganda machine because it cleverly disguises itself as "fair and balanced." The American media portrays itself as representing all sides to all issues and encouraging vigorous debate, but the sad reality is that it allows vigorous debate within a spectrum of issues that do not hurt the most powerful insiders. It either marginalizes or fails to discuss very important issues, such as those listed at the following site:

The media, including PBS, has followed exactly the same rhetoric such as "war on terrorism." The insidious part of all this is that the media is defining what the legitimate topics for debate are. Regardless of whether you are liberal or conservative, you have been programmed to believe that "Nader is a spoiler", "Nader cannot win" regardless of the facts. Frequently, I've heard intelligent people who have fallen into the trap of what is a legitimate topic of debate. It is the less well-education people who are more likely to challenge the media.

Is the media biased in farvor of business? Is the media a propaganda machine? Is the media honest about 9/11 and the US invasion and occupation of the Middle East? Does the media paint the US as the best place in the world, when the French people live 3 years longer? Is the US a functioning democracy when most voters want out of Iraq and they want a single-payer health system? How many elections have been stolen? How much propaganda must the people endure?

Citizens must learn to challenge the status quo and demand the truth. The US media and government is losing credibility in the US and around the world.

According to Noam Chomsy, US foreign policy has been one of threat and aggression rather than deplomacy. The US has spent about as much money on "defense" as all the other countries combined. Of course it's to the advantage of the US elite to encourage the government to threaten, attack, and occupy. The average American and Iraqi pays the cost of this policy. The average American lives outside the "green zone" of gated communities of privlige, just as the average Iraqi must endure increasing costs, poor sanitation, fuel shortages, lack of medical care, threats of home invasion and arbitrary detainment. Life for a poor American isn't that much different from the life of an average Iraqi.
