  1. Depends what do you really mean by advanced...

As for industrialisation..the western countries have had a boom since the past number of decades (or maybe even more than that)

But remember the world is huge...and human history goes back 1000's of years....

Many had rise and fall... from time to time.

    For example..Egyptians....Greeks...Romans..e... etc..

That's how our ever evolving world functions...

  2. Advanced is a relative term & one is very likely to see their own culture as being the most advanced.  Those living under Islamic law will often proclaim their culture the most advanced at protecting women's rights... however you asked my opinion and I have spent most of my life in a Western Culture.

I think the Western culture is more evolved to support the rights of all members of their society... far from perfect but we do allow attempts to destroy our own culture by those not satisfied with it... something almost no other culture tollerates.

All human cultures compete with others for converts to their cultural views and this sometimes leads to war.

Western culture is undoubtably among the least sensitive to the environment & this is partly due to the increased rights of individule members of the culture... although some attempts to change this are underway. Very restrictive laws, as some Westerners advocate will undoubtably lead to fewer rights, but some environmentalists would perfer those, other than themselves, be stripped of any rights not advocated by their narrow views.

  3. Yes, generally speaking.

But how advanced depends on which area of life and culture you're talking.

  4. No, I think the Yanomami tribes people are. I think western culture is the most advanced at warfare

  5. Just the fact that you have asked the question proves that it is not.  If you look at history, all major cultures that were at the "peak" of their advancement collapsed.  The empires of Alexandria, the Roman Empire, the British Empire, and the various Chinese empires all collapsed when they were at their peak of "civilization."

Now one could argue that every collapse would occur at the peak, due to civilizations always advancing from some previous point, but I would argue that it is when a civilization starts concentrating on the esoteric, the internal, and the culture, rather than on the physical betterment of the people, that it is doomed.

Take as an example the isolated cultures of Athens and Sparta during the prime of these city-states.  The Athens eventually fell from within to the Persians.  The Spartans, who never concentrated on the esoteric, but rather the strength and support of the individuals, never collapsed from within.  It had to be conquered, and the attempt to conquer Sparta was not the first.

Essentially, no civilization is ever static.  It either grows or it dies, because there are other cultures in the world that are more than willing to take it's place.  When the Western world decides to sit back on it's laurels and say to the world, "We are the best, and everyone should be just like us," it is a sure sign that it is a civilization in decline and on the verge of extinction.

    Just MHO.
