Question:

Do you think the Yankees demoting Melky and releasing Sexson is opening up the signing of Vernon Wells?

'Signing" can be the result of a trade for the less informed in the group. The Blue Jays have put him on waivers so it is not a far-fetched idea that they did it for a reason. At least one team must have interest.

  1. The Jays Arent Leting The Yankees in the Same Division Get Wells,Plus do u think wells wants to go to a non contending team, Wells has a no trade clause

  2. i think it says, we are not going to make the playoffs.

  3. No

I just think that they sent down melkey to give him a wake up call

they didnt trade him & kennedy for santana even though both had had sub par seasons i doubt they have given up on them....yet

  4. They can't sign Vernon Wells, they would have to trade for him.  He is under contract until 2014.

  5. Instead of signing another bat to a huge contract they should focus on signing a young pitcher in the offseason.

  6. They should focus on pitching not batting. I don't think they need another bat.

  7. Doubtful. They released Sexson because he sucks.

The Jays probably placed Wells on waivers to see if there was interest - not because they already had interest. Given his salary and injuries it's unlikely other teams will pick him up.

As for the Yankees picking him up: very doubtful, for one reason: Vernon Wells can't pitch. The Yankees are already full of injury prone veterans, why would they add another one? But...you never know. They may see winning a bunch of 10-9 games as their only option this year.
