  1. One never knows when it comes to The Yankees or should be continually surprised with what they do. However, I sure hope they acquire a quality SP somehow.

Peavy ( SD wont let him go despite them going nowhere, but , well, Imagine?!)

Halladay( he seems to only pitch well when he plays for Toronto, yet still....

Marcum ( perhaps he could get out of halladays shadow)

Cain ( good ininngs, great share of K's)

Guthrie( wouldnt ahve to worry about run support here)

    Oh well, just a thought.

  2. Hopefully they get Washburn.

  3. I think the Yankees need another pitcher. They've swiss cheesed their bullpenn. They left their bullpen with inexperienced guys, except for Marte and Rivera. So they need a few arms and fast if they want to make a serious run.

As far as Manny as a Yankee. As much as I don't like him, I think he's got the worst work ethic out of all players in the league, I think he's lazy, but I also think he's a great player. He can see the ball hit the ball, he's intimidating, and he'd be a big threat for any pitcher. But I seriouslly doubt the Redsox would offer him up to a team or teams they're actively contending against. So if I were the Red Sox I'd make a move for an NL team. Maybe get Clay Hensley and Heath Bell from the Padres to fill in the bullpen. I know they've got some reliable guys in there already, but this would give the bullpen some breathing room.

  4. There the Yankees so all is possible.

    Maybe another Reliever.

  5. Theres some talk about a deal with alberto gonzalez going to the dodgers and theres also some talk about trade with melky going to the royals for bannister

  6. I dont know if you heard this already but they just got Ivan Rodrigez

  7. The Yankees need another starting pitcher. Who they acquire and for who, is another story.

They will not get Manny, Boston wouldn't be so stupid as to give the fox the keys to the hen house. If Manny goes, it will be to a National League team where he can't kill Boston with his bat when they face him.

  8. I don't think they will get anyone significant. Maybe some mediocre utility player.

  9. I doubt it.

  10. They are trying to get Jarrod Washburn but they aren't going to give up anyone they jut want to pick up his 14 million dollar contract. So its 50-50 as of now unless the mariners give in and trade him before the deadline.

  11. They are going to add a relief pitcher

  12. no

  13. I dont like the Fonsworth deal

  14. first of all, the craziest thing i have ever heard is Manny becoming a yankee, first off the red sox would not trade him in their own division, especially in a tight race like it is, and 2nd they will ride him out and then not pick up his option, because they know they cant win without him. And why would they want a left fielder when they just got Nady? He is a good player, good with the glove, and a good hitter, manny is lazy out in the field. But all great red sox players do become hall of famers by coming to the yanks(Babe Ruth, Wade Boggs) It would be fun to see him in pinstripes and booed at fenway, but the yanks management wouldnt go for that kind of attitude.

  15. tejada to the cubs??...no just joking, i wish.......but have heard cubs looking for left handed batter.

  16. After trading away Farnsworth (I would have given up Robertson instead of farnsworth) they MIGHT (highly unlikely) go for a reliever, remember, they also just got rid of Hawkins (FINALY!!!!!!!!) and I'm predicting that after getting Pudge (YAY!) Chad Moeller will probably go down to AAA or might be DFA. Ironically enough, I (in my  own personal opinion) think they might go for Manny... (imagine Manny playing for us... no dreadlocks, beard etc.) I don't think they'll go after Washburn anymore.
