What chances do they have? If its Rex Sox VS Yankees at the World Series, who will win? Will u still be a fan of the Yankees if Derek Jeter retires? Who's your fave yankees player? Mine's Jeter. Have they played any games lately? Did they win or lose? Are they doing good?

first of all they can't have 2 AL teams in the world sires.my favorite player is Derek Jeter also.they have lost 4of their last 5.

Lacking pitching are you kiddning me there pitching staff has been the best in the bigs since the all star break i dont know if they win the series but they will be in the play offs this has been and injury filled year but they are still right there. Jeter is my favorite and i will still be a fan reguardless but that is 10 years away or better. yeah they won today.

Did you honestly just ask who would win if the Yankees and the Red Sox played in the World Series? First of all they can't play in the World Series seeing how both of them are in the American League.

No. Injuries to Posada and Wang hurt way too much. It can't be Red Sox vs Yankees this year because the Tampa Bay Rays are going to take a spot from either the Yanks or Sox.

The Yankees have now become the favorites to win the division.  I think the Red Sox will not repeat and frankly it's even possible that they will be the team left out of the playoffs.  I still think they are better than the Rays and could edge them out.  We will see....

Once you're in the playoffs anything can happen.  All we have to do is look at the 83-78 Cardinals of a couple of years ago to see how the impossible dream can work.

The Red Sox and Yankees can never play each other in the world series.  They play in the same division.  The highest level they can go and still play each other is in the ALCS.  The winner of that series goes to the world series and plays the NL champions.

As far as Derek Jeter retiring, yes, I will still be a Yankee fan all my life.  My all time favorite player was Mickey Mantle.  Today I follow Derek Jeter.

no. they do have many superstars but they are really lacking in pitching. im not a yankees fan but A-rod is a d**n good player

I think the Yankees have a chance, seeing how good they've been since the All-star break. I think that Yankee pitching will hold up, and it really has been very good lately. The rays are a very good team, but their serious lack of experience (i mean like of postseason not experience on the field) will prob make them fall short. My fav player is jetah and i think they're doing pretty well.

They do have a shot, although I think they will fall short. The Yanks and Sox can never play in the world series because they are both american league teams. I'm already not a Yankee fan so I don't really care about his retirement. My favorite player from their team is Posada. They played today and won against the Angels. They are doing pretty well lately.
