  1. They have gymnast who look really, really young...

    so maybe.

  2. Read these articles - if they won't be disabled by the time you click on them - and put the facts together. Their gymnasts are ineligible to compete due to the age qualification of 16.  Thus, the Chinese government is lying, and therefore, cheating.  Young gymnasts have advantages to older gymnasts, and that's why they have lied about their ages so that the younger Chinese gymnasts can be on top of the competition.

  3. Yes they are.

  4. No because they don't need to cheat. All the accusations are false, and even if they were true. How is it chinas fault? the judges are not even from china! whatever

this question has been asked way too many times, by I'm guessing: americans.

  5. No, not at all.

They do have 1.3 billion people, and only need to pick 600+ athletes from them.

Even if you just look at numbers and put aside the billions of dollars I am sure they would have thrown at the athletes training to make this a triumph for their country, they are bound to come out in front.

Especially on technical sports that you can train for, like diving and gymnastics, and not the super human sports where you need to be either super human-ly strong or fast :)

  6. no they are not cheating, americans are just scared and jelous of china so they are resorting to blaming them of cheating. China trained extremely hard especially seeing  that they are on home turf. if anyone has ever cheated it was the US,   must i bring up someone by the name of Marion Jones, and oh i dont know  ...drugs ??

  7. Current reports are that some of the members of the Chinese gymnastics team are under age.

  8. yes they are because they made the chinese girl win in gymnastics instead of doing a tie breaker with the usa girl

but no they cheated....especially because its in they country

  9. no, they just have more gold medals. get over it.

  10. I don't think they are cheating either (come on, the whole world is watching!)

With that said, the only area that I think called for understandable attention is the "age controversy" of the female gymnasts. I would be very disappointed if she was younger than 16 (I think they said she might be 14). With the Chinese people's emphasis on "face" I would be very surprised if they would risk their world image by cheating. Especially when they are the host country. Therefore, I don't think that they are.

I think it's important to say that some Chinese people DO look incredibly young. A girl in my Macroeconomics class (in College) is 4'9 and looks so young that even I did a triple-take. She's tiny, and looks like a little kid (I'm a girl so I notice these things sometimes lol).

All in all, I think that because the Olympics are in China, the judges might be even more aware of NOT favouring the home-country because they would be sure of comments like this from around the world.

  11. The Olympics is about the whole, not the individual.

  12. Certainly not!  Firstly the underage gymnast scandal has not been proven...a few websites isn't definitive proof!  Secondly most of the events which it has been said that China cheated (ie; subjective scoing events like gymnastics, diving etc), I fail to see how and/or why they cheated.  The judging panel is comprised of judges from a wide array of countries - surely if they were planning to cheat, they would skew it in favor of their own country - not China.  It is just too far fetched to assume that all the nations have colluded and are planning to take medals from the US and give to China.

Having said that, I'm sure cheating does happen, through the use of banned substances for instance, but this is an international problem - not just Chinese.

  13. Other than the female gymnast age controversy I don't think they are cheating.  They are getting favorable scores from judges, probably to the home host country advantage.  Also, they get a lot of their medals in lame sports.

  14. no...probably since they're hosting the olympics...their gov't pays for their training so they look good...idk...or maybe they're just really good
