Although the church is more liberal today than ever, i wonder if it will backfire on McCain. The church is pretty clear on the role of women (mothers) in the home. The fact that she has 4 home ages kids and a newborn baby with down syndrome makes me question her priorities.

  1. They will love her. With this choice McCain has energized his base.

What a sexist you are saying she should stay home to take care of her children.  She will be VP and her husband can handle that now.

  2. They will love her because she is so pro-life

  3. I think you can say evangelical voters are fully behind McCain/Palin now.

  4. I don't really like the pick. And I know nothing about her.

  5. Just goes to show you how hypocritical conservatives and the religious right can be.

  6. Like throwing gas on a fire!  They LOVE it...

  7. "The church is pretty clear on the role of women (mothers) in the home."

I must STRONGLY disagree. The church (at least not the Christian church) does not tell a woman her place is in the home. I am a Christian and most of the women in my church work... so your argument isn't really a valid one from my point of view.

  8. I think it will be discussed - at great lengths.

I think there will be many that will hold it against her.

I however, will not.  I think that it is a step in the right direction, showing young women, that you can have conservative values, and still be a strong woman.

  9. Not sure. I like the woman myself....saw an interview with her and I was impressed.

The children at home thing is a tough call but other mothers under similar circumstances have to work, I'm sure. They will certainly get the best care in the world if they are in the White House crowd.
