Question:

Do you think the current judging and scoring system of gymnastic is corrupt?

I see those "judges" scoring and giving points with no fixed rules and completely at random or by their own bias, I feel like getting those laptops and break in their heads. They are completely biased I don't know with whom but is sickening how some gymnasts make horrible routines and get high scores while others make beautiful routines and get low scores. They make something that should be simple in something completely complex and unintelligible.

What do you think?

  1. I absolutely believe its corrupt.  Look at these Chinese gymnasts!  They can't be teenagers, you can tell that they're ten, eleven years old.  But we can't do anything about it because China said they checked all documentation regarding athletes eligibility.

As far as the bias goes...it's hard to watch.

  2. ya i totally agree with you. they should also have a different scoring. i liked where they highest you could get was a ten. that wasnt as confusing

  3. Hmm. It could go both ways because with the old system, an easy routine done well could get exceptional marks and a hard routine done messily was not rewarded. This way, they have a score of difficulty as well as execution. So, I can't decide which system is better.

  4. Hmmm well let's see the young lady who just went on the balance beams had a few visible mistakes and still managed to score a 15.7 so I say yes something fishy is going on and I am not a hater. h**l yeah Ryo I agree!!!

  5. There are fixed rules, more than ever before. However the code is so extremely complicated that the judges don't know what they are doing anymore. That is why it takes them forever to get their scores up. Under the old scoring system, judging was far more subjective and judges got away with a lot more bias than now.

  6. i think the olympics as a whole can be very corrupt

  7. The last score convinced me.

    15.7? What are they,on crack?

  8. Yeah its a bit shaky. Something about start off value. Its lower for some and higher for others. That's okay, since with a higher start value, mistakes are costly, but when they make mistakes, more points should come off easily.

I'm not trying to be biased, but a mistake from a Chinese is supposed to be way higher due to the start off value, yet they make mistakes and still break 16s or near it. When the Americans mess up, they loose big and they shouldn't because they have a lower start value. Also they're not getting very high scores. Its very shaky and it appears as though the Chinese are enjoying nice home cooking...

  9. Thank god, they just made the poor little Chinese girl get a bad score. I think they are watching us on Yahoo answers here... Wouldn't be surprised.

  10. want to see corrupt go watch Olympic Boxing
