I had to sign up for draft eligibility a few weeks ago after I turned 18, and was angry at the fact that I had no choice but to register because of the fact that I was both 18 and male. Why are females exempt from the draft? Thats pure bullshit. The letter said I could be fined 250,000 dollars and spend 5 years in prsion if i didnt register. What the h**l? Im running to mexico or canada if the draft is reinstated.

  1. I don't know what you are talking about, Bush didn't sign no draft eligibility veto, and he always says that there are enough troops in the ARMY RESERVES.

  2. First off, there will be no draft reinstated unless Congress sees a need.

Second, you should be ashamed to partake of freedom without contributing to its defense.

Unfortunately, your sorry self has nothing to worry about.

  3. The US has created a military class to do the fighting for them. This way the general public doesn't have to make a large sacrifice to fight a war and there is less upheaval in the country. WW II, Korea, Vietnam all had a draft and the public made sacrifices to fight the wars. Vietnam created a massive protest movement in te young people because they were the ones that were going involuntarily.

The Iraq war can drag on indefinitely even with low public opinion, because only a few have to make sacrifices and they are doing it voluntarily. The general public has only a small personal stake in the war, mainly in the national debt, but most Americans are to short sighted to care about that.

  4. Blame President Carter for that injustice.

I don't think the draft will be reinstated unless we have a declared war against and aggressor (believe it or not, we have not had a declared war since WWII -- all other wars including this one have essentially been "Police Actions", authorized by the President but not declared by Congress).

Let's face it, people are not protesting this war on the streets because most of us are not really involved.  If our son's, daughters, or ourselves were involved, I can guarantee that DC would become one large protest ground where no number of police could contain.

  5. Not in the near future unless we are attacked.

  6. FYI, your question is most likely going to be deleted just because of your choice of foul wording.

If you want to get mad, talk to the Democrats that started the Selective Service:

  7. Don't worry, the draft is not being reinstated while Bush is in office.

  8. No, the military uses other tricks, like 'stop loss' to keep soldier in the military that would otherwise be getting out when their contract ends.

    F*CKING BA$TARDS!
