This is just a beginning. we are using the natural resources recklessly, that includes the oil and water also. Scarcity of these natural resources will trigger the worst decline of the human history.67% population of the world is living below the poverty line they are gonna die of starving.

Expect the worst then you won't be disappointed.

However i personally don't think it will get any worse, the government are just haven't got any answers so are feeding you their predictions.

As long as oil prices keep going up the worst hasn't come yet. There will also be the water problem, people will press the government to find a solution, not only in America but everywhere else. Our deteriorated environment will also take its toll on our economy, crops will be more expensive and imports prices will rise. To solve the problem in hand (inflation due to high gas prices) we should simply lower our consumption;

Right now demand goes up and so do prices. If we reduce our oil consumption, demand will move to d1 to d2 as shown above and prices would go down.
