Do you think the elderly over looked in society? and why?

Yes. We live in an age where we want our elderly to retire and therefor rendered useless. Our society focuses on " what can our young to do better our society" and that usually come in the form of work and careers.

I don't think we treat them right.

Having worked in a nursing home ,I would have to say YES.So many families put their older relatives in homes and forget about them,They just sit there waiting every day for anyone to visit them.It's so sad.In Native society it a honor to become an elder,they are revered for their wisdom and experience in life and most often taken care of.
