  1. He is a very explosive fighter. Headlines love fighters that can score knockouts. If you want to read about this fight head on over to http://www.fightjunkie.com/predictions they have a write-up on the fight and also a forum where you can go and chat about this and many other fight related stuff.

  2. The heavyweight division is dying.

    Manny's division is thriving.

Are you suggesting that Manny Pacquiao is SO GREAT that he is making all the heavy weights look bad?

The heavy weights need no help looking bad.  They are all awful.

Manny is one of the greatest fighters to lace the gloves up.

If the sport dies it could be because of severely misinformed fans (like ones who would ask this type of question).

  3. w/ out a boxing superstar that can call the attention of the busy people out there, boxing may possibly dying. But today,If Manny Pacquiao can beat Marquez in just a few rounds by a devastating KO,It's amazing,an extraordinary that the world should know that there is another superhuman in sports like Michael Jordan,Tiger Woods,or Mike Tyson.

  4. No, its just proof positive that people in the general sports media (like Toney Kornheiser) don't know anything about boxing except for heavyweights.

Manny, and other guys from different parts of the world are huge because of boxing - just because the fan base is different here doesn't mean its dying.  It would be like saying soccer is dead because David Beckham isn't huge in the USA.

  5. pacquiao is gonna go down in history as an all time great, as for boxing being a dying sport, i disagree .

just because mma is increasing in popularity does not mean that boxing is a dying sport, and guys like pacquiao, mayweather, hopkins, calzaghe, pavlik and cotto deserve the publicity they get.

  6. No, I think it's the lackluster heavy weights that are hurting the sport. I know a lot of fans (well they call themselves fans) that only like the heavies and there hasn't been anything to get excited about for a long time. I think MMA is also stealing some fans from boxing. I personally think it's an exciting time for boxing, lots of good boxers and potential match ups.

  7. No.  The decline of boxing started years ago when Pacquiao was'nt even fighter yet.  Shady promoters,  bad or corrupt referees,  and the fact that alot of the best fighters refuse to fight each other because a loss could hurt their careers.  It takes years for these guys to fight and sometimes they never do and that destroys the sport.  Pacquiao is actually an entertaining fighter,  someone who is actually good for the sport.  He has speed and fight at a fast pace and he always shows up to fight and the fans like him not only in the Phillipinbes but all over.
