My chemo will be over next month and they'll be taking my port out. I want to now if I'l be able to bring my camcorder in so I can record them cutting me open and then watch it later. I turn the bep off, would they let me? Why wouldn't they let me?

  1. it is up to hospital policy.. you can ask them first..because some hospital do not mind .

  2. Why the h**l would you want to do that?

    Thats just disgusting.....

Only kidding, yeh they probably would mind LOL

  3. It shouldn't be a problem if you plan well in advance. They'll want to be sure you aren't dragging nasty germs in with it, though.

It's hardly worth the bother, though. Taking out the port is not a huge procedure, and there won't be much to see.

  4. Highly unlikely.  Most hospitals have policies against that, for risk management purposes.  They don't want to see that video in court.

Not that YOU would sue, but there are thousands of opportunists who would.  Blame them if the hospital says no.

Even for C-sections, they usually do not let the surgery be filmed.  The new baby can be, but not the surgery itself.

  5. it probably depends on the hospital, but as long as it doesn't interfere with any equipment, or distract them from their work, they will probably let you.

congratulations on your chemo being over!

  6. I don't think so.  Your camcorder wouldn't be sterile.  I assume you mean that you would have someone else running it.  They might be able to film through a window, but there are so many people around the patient that I doubt you would get much of the surgery, just a lot of backs.
