You know how all of a sudden it "appeared" out of nowhere and took over the music world (although I can't bring myself to put Rap in the same category as Music) Seems like all of a sudden so many people were expressing their thoughts & emotions & life stories in rhyme. Well..I guess that's what songs do too..but Rap seems to have the same beat all the time. (I could be wrong..I don't listen to it much..if ever!) OK...just this...Where in the world (or out of this world) did Rap come from?? (I'm thinking maybe aliens! lol)What do you think.? ((Yeah..I'm running out of questions! lol)

  1. No, and I do not know how you would get from A to B with this question. I am sure there are wacky musicians who have claimed to get inspiration for Ghosts and what not. I do not know of any though.

  2. Music is always continually evolving. Even rap of today is not the same as the street rap of the 80s.

The african american community has always thrived to be on the front line when it comes to radically new musical sounds. Gospel, blues, Jazz, and now rap.......

Although I am not a fan of Rap, I have to admire the rich history and evolution of the sound. It is truely an inspired work. Its been around too long to be a fad, but not long enough for me to have observed it from its origins.

However, to answer your question, no, I honestly do not think it comes from spirits.

  3. Rap isn't the result of any kind of inspiration.  It is the result of social, artistic, and moral regression, both on the part of the performers and the audience.

Other examples: Jerry Springer, punk rock, most MTV.

  4. The premise for your question doesn't make sense.

Rap music really began in New York in the 1970's at parties. The DJ would make up rhymes over the instrumental parts of the songs he/she was playing. That's all. Nothing spiritual at all. Personally, I can't stand rap music, but I really don't understand where you're coming from.

Just because you received messages in rhyme does not mean that all rhyme has the same genesis. Rap music, initially, used the same kind of rhyming mechanisms as most popular poetry and song lyrics, as well as being rythmically almost identical to numerous nursery rhymes. Rhyme is a very effective linguistic tool, which is why it has been used for as long as anyone could guess as a means to convey a message or idea, or just as a musical tool. Music, incidentally, is probably older than language, so this may give an indication of why rhyme is so effective, and why music is something which transcends all cultures and is at the very core of the human experience.

You suggest that it "came out of nowhere". That's not true at all. It evolved very slowly from the 1970's onwards. Perhaps you weren't aware of it.

You also state that it always has the same beat. Well, yes. As a musician I'd like to point out that all types of popular music have a specific rythymic style or pattern which makes them what they are. The same goes for country, folk, blues, heavy metal, punk etc. The notable exceptions are jazz and classical music, which, if anything, are defined by their very unrestricted rythym patterns.

So, did rap music find it's beginings in messages from spirits? Um, no. This really was a very silly question.

  5. huh.. no no no no no.. definitely no.. really no.. as a teenager i love music and i love new age but i seriously dont think it comes from inspiration from spirits..i think they just come up with rhymes.. however some songs that really touch the heart may be from inspiration from spirits.. like the.. where'd you go, i miss you so.. seems like its been forever that you've been gone.. its rap but nuthin like the the dirrty rap and all.. its by fort miner.. beautiful song..

  6. Yes, It comes from the soul, lets talk about the soul;

  7. Actually, some of the first rappers were a group called The Lost Poets. (or was it Last Poets?)   I think they were out of NY.  My brother had their album, and I remember being entranced by the rhythm of the bongo drum and the voices.  They were amazing!  The one song that stuck in my mind was "N****** are Scared of Revolution" that had an almost haunting rhythm.  This album did not have only one beat, each song was unlike any other.  People have been expressing their thoughts & emotions for centuries in all forms of art:  song, poetry, painting, sculpting, dance...it's just another expression.  I listen to everything myself - opera, classical, rock, alternative, jazz, blues, rap, r & b, but my favorite is Celtic rock.  Whatever my mood is that day determines which CD gets played.  But it's usually a Black47 CD <grin>.

  8. no, no not at all.  when people are thinking or new song to write, a book they want to write does that come from spirits or aliens?  No probs not, rap is just like a new genre or music being created and maybe it was the person who made it maybe their life impacted how they came up with this.  it doesnt mean it came from aliens maybe it was just another way of a person expressing themselves in a different way you know like what they were god at using that make a change in their life.  but i would research it more to find more out about it, look it up on the net listen to rap, ask some one who knows about it.

  9. How sad that you can't see how rap evolved from from life and appreciate it's journey from it's humble rhyming roots to it's use throughout history. At one time even the news was rapped" Extra, extra read all about it".  Rap is news and creativity that challenges you to notice the difference and listen to the words not the music all of the time.

Rap speaks of many different things and to many different audiences.  If you don't like it's modern stuff you can go back to it's basic roots of jazz, of blues, rhythm & rhyme, swing, gospel, slavery, nursery tales, folklore and etc.

Let's rewind one thyme, back to your 5pt lines and see if I can turn your nickel into a dime by telling you rap comes from rappers enheartened place and not from some creatures from outer space and not from spirits that have been misplaced, but from the human spirt that must have voice that just comes out from deeper place inside your mind.

  10. All music comes inspired from bad spirits.

All music gender are branches from rock and rock it was inspired from the blues and the blues was inspired from African rhythms which Africans use until nowadays to invoke demons in they rituals.

There was a big confuse about the beginning of rock and peace was translated as revelion and violence.

And love was translated as promiscuity and s*x liberalism.

Rap and all other moderm rithms including rock and all tropical hispanics music are all music that invoke sin, evil and is the main destruccion of all human beings.

Before you turn into the first zip of alcohol an before you ligth your firs joint of weed, you already have in your mind all the revelion and bad examples that you need from your "idols and heroes" that have a microphone in theyre hands without even have skill or voices to sing.

Just be carefull with music, that was the beginin of the destruccion of my life and of most of my friends an a lot of people that I know.

The worst thing is that it took a lot of wisdom to figure it out and I just learn it 20 years latter.

Is confusing but there is bad spirits into the music.
