  1. Scaring the masses sells wars, products, compliance, conformity and the military-industrial complex.

If they wouldn't scare us god forbid we would start demanding healthcare like Canada, Sweden, England, Switzerland, Japan etc etc

  2. It  certainly  is  not  helping  to  improve  things  for  our  country  or to  inspire  our  young  ppl.  to  move  toward  the  right  direction.  I  usually  point  out  the  negativity  and  deceptiveness of  the  media  to  anyone  who will  listen.

  3. Yes.

Everyone in this country is subjected to "human interest" stories that aren't actual news in the name of ratings. They are aiming for ratings over valuable information. On the rare times when actual news is presented, it is so spun, misinterpreted and biased that very little truth is present at all. Why did I have to watch 3 hours of John Edwards to hear 30 seconds of Georgia being invaded? Why is a s*x scandal of a FORMER presidential primaries candidate more important than a shooting war involving an ally? How can the New York Times claim that gun violence is up because gun control laws are less stringent when the data has been misrepresented and gun control is stricter?

The media choosing its darlings (Obama and McCain) prevents Americans from learning about the other candidates, opening the door for political sabotage of someone who really does offer real change (not continuing what we are doing or going back to failed stances of the past and calling it change).

  4. I don't think that's ruining the country. News don't change things, all it does is annoy people. That can't ruin the country. Fox didn't start a war in Iraq or CNN didn't hit WTC on 911. They just report things in attempt to make most profit.

  5. I have to say that the political campaigns in this country are designed for people with a fifth grade education and very little if any interest in politics. The main stream media just caters to these people. If the main stream media really discussed the issues that are facing this country most of the peoples eyes in this country would just glaze over.  Poof no sponsors. No advertising dollars. No pundents asking the same idiotic questions over and over again. Sounds pretty good to me.
