It sure seems that way. Always depicting men in a bad way and having stories/movies, etc to inflame the women.

  1. Media depictions are bananas. What else is there to say?

  2. No.

I really don't understand the people on here that go on about the media portraying men in a negative way. There are so many tv shows and films around these days that it is entirely possible to choose only tv shows and films that portray men in a positive light and women in a negative light, if you would prefer that. Or to choose those which ONLY have male characters. (You'd probably be hard pushed to find the reverse.) Or to choose those which (gasp!) portray men and women as equals. If you choose to watch cheap stupid sitcoms that 'portray men as buffoons' that is your choice.

  3. Yes. Profit is the motive.

Women are shown as stupid if they are blond, bitchy if they are smart, and worthless, ugly, or flawed if they are old.

Men are either loving but stupid, or smart but evil. Really, smart men are often shown as evil geniuses or sociopaths on TV shows... and smart women always have "issues." Stupid women are beautiful ("dumb blondes") and often get into trouble.

  4. Probably, battle of the sexes = battle of the products

the media will do anything to benefit themselves and the market.

  5. I doesn't want men and women to fight.

It only wants women to fight.  It wants men to cower.

    Hey ... it's a free country - still

  6. Feminist media is often richer. It's all about the dough and the sensationalism. Portraying women as harmless, pure and delicate beings oppressed by the monsters and ogres whose gender is confirmed by a p***s will gain a lot of viewership and readership, because that is what people want to read and hear, about how evil men are.

The media has just become another supply-demand industry. Instead of providing raw, neutralized facts, it twists and spins the most neutral of topics into women's issues. Because that is the breadwinner of today's media, along with dissing politicians.

Money is all that matters. As long as the media is getting dough, why should it care if it's creating a rift between men and women?

Whatever it is, if the daughter-in-law getting oppressed by the men in a mindlessly popular TV soap is 'proof' of the patriarchy, you've got to worry. You've got to question the integrity of the media.

The very fact that oppression of women in TV soaps is considered proof of it happening at the same rate in real life shows us all that it is what people want to believe. A soap with vindictive women and oppressed innocent men won't get much viewership, while all of India tunes into female oppression to cry and blame all men.

You tell me what you'd rather watch: A soap depicting men as drunk, disorderly and violent cheaters and women as innocent, pure and virtuous lambs, or a soap with vindictive, cheating, drunk and violent women and innocent, harmless men. Soaps don't offer much choice other than the two I've mentioned.

  7. I think it would be absurd to suggest that this is desirable. The media usually doesn't notice its own divide-and-conquer strategies until other people point it out.

  8. of course

it's a good way of creating a group called feminists, to create drama................its all money

  9. Not Particularly... The Media reports "News" & news by it's very nature- tends to be Bad... I don't see how it's "inciting" one Gender after another...

  10. Always depicting men in a bad way??

Have you seen that show 'two and a half men'?

Have you seen 'Everybody love Raymond'?

    These are just 2 examples!

These shows are highly critical on women and base their comedy on 'joke' after derogatory 'joke' against the femal characters..... If men are idiots, it's funny. If women are idiots, they're 'bitchy'. Especially in these so called American 'comedy' shows.

I don't think the media want men and women to fight. I think the media is run by men, for men.

  11. battle of the sexes is what most people want and their for it gets the ratings up,the media only does what can get the ratings go sky high.

  12. I haven't noticed the media trying to tell me men are bad, but I do frequently see men posting what an awful person I must be to be a feminist.

THAT is kind of annoying. Inflaming as well.

  13. the media want stories.

    "good" stories have conflict.

If there aren't enough pictures and stories from wars, civil wars, crimes, etc - there is the "eternal" story of the war between the sexes. which seems to me to exist in the media a lot more than it exists in reality.

  14. It's all part of the media's divide and conquer mentality.

Men and women don't generally want to be in conflict. It's the way they're manipulated by the powers-that-be.

  15. Exactly...but u know if theres no fighting theres not much of an economy..this economy is based on war. Sick but true

  16. Feminist (communist) turn men and women against each other.
