Veridiana: ver-ihd-ee-AHN-ah

Dahlia: DAHL-yah

If her name is Veridiana, I could call her Di-Di, but the name is just so beautiful - long - but beautiful. :^] I'm having a bit of a difficult time... So, I really thank you!

  1. Until I saw the pronunciation I hated it.  But after saying it out loud a few times I think it's beautiful.  I would NOT shorten it to DiDi.  Why change such a lovely name into such an insignifigant nickname?  If you name her Veridiana, own it and call her Veridiana.  I happen to HATE trendy and ridiculous names, but this is gorgeous.

I also like Dahlia, very pretty and delicate.

  2. first off i think everyone will have a terrible time pronouncing it--so no i do not like it and june is for an old woman. dahlia grace is pretty

  3. In my opinion, Veridiana is a bit too much.

I really like the name Dahlia though.! I love it actually. :D

  4. Not it's not beautiful, it's weird and she will hate you for naming her this.

  5. Dahlia June sounds more beautiful. It flows nicer. Veridiana? I'm sorry, but I don't like it that much, at least not with June as the middle name.

    :)

  6. Dahlia is prettier IMO, and a lot less harder to pronounce. Imagine the child learning to write her name, having to correct every single person on the pronunciation the rest of her life. I pity her already.

And why would you name her something you weren't going to call her in the first place. Di-di is cute. So name her DiDi

  7. Uh, uh!

  8. It's going to be hard on your daughter if you name her something that is hard to pronounce.  She is going to spend a great deal of time explaining to people how to pronounce and spell her name.  Just drop the Veri and name her Deanna, Dierdre, Danielle, Dana, Darma, Danette, Diane, or any other pre-existing D name.

The name sounds very made up, and it's spelled wrong for how it's pronounced.  Someday your little girl will need to get a job.  Long, made-up names are a put-off for some employers.  I saw it on 20-20 and I agree.

Dahlia is good, but I am a crime show buff and I am always watching shows on the black dahlia murders...Other than that I think it is a good name.

  9. I like Dahlia better -- and I agree w/the pps that said people will have a hard time pronouncing & spelling her name ... that's always something to consider!

  10. I like Dahlia so much better! Plus it will be easier to spell and say come kindergarten!

  11. Ah, when I saw Dahlia I too thought of the black Dahlia murder.

I really like Veridiana alot and Di-Di is an adorable nickname too!

  12. i like dahlia better

  13. Veridiana is indeed long and, personally, I don't care for the name.   Dahlia is pretty...people will know how to pronounce and spell it even though it's not that common..

  14. I personally prefer Dahlia June x

  15. I like Veridiana June. Classy and elegant. Di-Di is an adorable nickname.

  16. The first one is pretty in theory, but I'm not sure how it will work as an actual name. Any time she has to tell someone her official name it will be quite difficult...Di-Di is cute as a nickname, but not so much in a professional job, so that might be an issue.

I like Dahlia June. It has kind of an old-world charm to it, and it's fairly unique but not too difficult.

    Good luck to you!
