Do you think the name "Colt" would make a good name for a baby boy?

Some of my pregnant coworkers who are having boys were not too receptive of the name but their husbands seemed to like it. What do you think of the name?

It reminds me too much of a cult. So I wouldn't use it as his official name. I would name him Colton and call him Colt for short. Or you can even use it as a middle name such as Hunter Colt or Nicholas Colt.

I personally like Colton better  then you can call him Colt, but colt seems like a nickname (not complete) as for Colton has more syllables and seems like a  better first name

Colby is a type of cheese so please do not use that either.

please remember your child will have this name their entire lives.you may think its a cute baby name but let me remind you they are not babies very long at all.most of our lives we are older .pick something that will be suitable for the entire life and use  nick names for when they are younger,good luck!

It's not as bad as people are saying.

Colt is similar to many other names out there, Cole and Colton for example. Once you got to know a guy named Colt, the name would seem pretty normal.

It's definitely a "cool name". If that's what you're going for, I think it's perfect.

It's the name of a gun, I bet that's why the husband's were more receptive. I think it would be cute as a nickname if the baby's name was Colton or something like that, but it's a horse and a gun just by itself. Give the kid an option, an out for when they get older. But I definitely don't mind it as a nickname.
