  3. no they won't  toronto is special, not good enough to make the playoffs, not smart enough to tank the end of the season for a high pick

  5. no right now they are in the same situaition the Bruins were in and thats either signing a Veteran who will bring leadership like Mats Sundin but will push his team mates to win more games. Or they can let some of the young guns have a chance to play and see how good they are.

    If there is a team who we have not seen in the playoffs for some time its Phoenix though they did let go Vrbata who was good for the team they just got Jokinen, Mike York needs to be the good player they say he is and they got a better goalie. The team is young and are really trying to make a name for them selfs. And I know some Phoenix fans and they love their team.

  6. They stated already that they would have to take a step back before they could get better... notice they are only signing guys who are younger with some upside or one year deals.... probably not! But they could over achieve perhaps!

  11. No, and that's not the point. They're trying to rebuild- this year is going to be fore retooling the team. And possibly sucking enough to get tavares.

  12. No i don't think so... and this is coming from a leafs fan. Fletcher is making the team better for the future... so next season we might just tank. But hey if we do then that would be great!

    SENSor- yeah we'll enjoy the sens CHOKE again in the post season!

  13. In the fantasy world that I live in, where Mats Sundin is coming back and Gretzky will quit his gig with the Coyotes to put the skates on one last time and lead the Leafs back to glory... yes, they will definitely make the playoffs.  

    In the real world, I doubt it.  Best case scenario, we sneak in as an 8 seed.  More likely is that we make a late-season push to s***w up our draft position again and still fall short.

    Sorry fellow Leaf fans, but we need Johnny Tavaras now that we're almost SURE to not get Sundin back. :(
