Do you think the other U.S. swimmers ...?

... feel undervalued when they are also talented athletes, are also giving 100% or better, have also trained long and hard and yet most of the press coverage is PHELPS, PHELPS, PHELPS???

  1. yeah, they could probably feeling like "what about me?" and that's understandable, but a lot of those swimmers are Michael Phelps' friends. If they were really his friends they would feel good for him and they would be wishing him the best, instead of feeling bad for themselves.

Your question is something I have also thought about, but the 2 answers are interesting.  All of the Olympic swimmers have dedicated a majority of their life to swimming or they wouldn't be at the Olympic level and they deserve the recognition that goes along with that.  Without Phelps how popular would swimming be during this Olympics?  I think they have to take the recognition where they can get it and they do deserve it but then be thankful for all the coverage Phelps is creating to generate more interest in swimming.

  3. this is a competition, not a love fest. if they want the same attention, earn 5 medals or more.
