  1. They would lose as well.  Wlad is tremendously talented, but hitting the deck a couple times in 2003/2004 has made him gun-shy.  He is far superior in talent to Chagaev and Maskaev, but you will see the same fight you saw over the weekend.  Wlad will not let himself get into trouble.  He is turning into a defensive fighter.  A defensive fighter in the heavyweight division is a boring fighter.  He needs to let his hands go.  Who cares if he hits the deck a couple times?  He can hop up and go from there.  He can outbox, and outpoint any of the current heavyweights.  He should be able to KO them, but don't look for him to register any KOs soon.

  2. I think you would have done better that Ibragimov.  Enough said.

  3. I dont think so either. Maskaev would do better than Chagaev because he is close to WK in height BUT, his trainer wont give him the correct gameplan to beat WK. That gameplan is this, "Maskaev, this is the biggest fight of your career. He is regarded as the best fighter in this divsion and nobody knows who u are, so you have nothing to lose. With that said, leave it all out there and dont even think about coming bakk to this if you dont throw 100 punches a round!! Fight, scratch that, street fight him. You have nothing to lose. This is what we trained for baby!!"

  4. I think Ruslan Chagaev could do better. He's not actually that bad (by current heavyweight standards) based on his fight with Matt Skelton.

  5. Over all, Wladimire Klitschko can beat any other Boxer. But there are a few dangerous fighters out there, and a few that are up and coming who we do not yet know.

Sticking with the "Champions", I think only W. Klitschko is Champion, the others are merely titlists. They can either live with that opinion (it is not just mine) or step up to Wladimire and take what he's got.

Maskaev is 39, has not fought in nearly a year and a half by the time he next fights. That is vs Samuel Peter. Oliver McCall KOed Maskaev in one round, Kirk Johnson did in 4, and "Goofy" Whitaker in 2 the very next fight. So Maskaev hasn't the chin, youth, or activity to beat Klitschko, or Peter for that matter.

So with that said, look for Peter to be the WBC titlist. Maybe we should go there instead of Maskaev to fight Klitschko. This will be a rematch of Klitschko-Peter in 2005. The first time, he knocked Klitschko around, but Klitschko got up and won by comfortable numbers despite the knock downs. Since then Klitschko looks alot better (look at who he has fought since then), where as we have see the blown up Middleweight James Toney and 2nd tier fighter Jameel McCline expose Peter's weaknesses.

In a rematch, Klitschko would be far better prepared because he is smarter, fought better competition since, and has beaten Peter already. I can't imagine Peter winning that out side of a "punchers chance". I'd like to see the fight though, it would be a IBF/WBO/WBC unification bout.

With that said, the WBA titlist either fights the winner, or he's left out in the cold and his title means nothing vs the man who holds 3.

That brings us to Chagaev, the WBA titlist. Against untested Vladimir Virchis, non legendary John Ruiz, and over sized Nicolay Valuev he could not get all 3 judges to give him the nod. He gets past people by the skin of his teeth opponents that Klitschko would have a hey day with.

So let's dream for a bit, if Wladimire fights 3 times a year, he has one down with Ibragimov already, he has a manditory coming up this summer, that would leave him with a December-ish fight. Vitali Klitschko is to take on the Maskaev-Peter fight, so unless he steps off, Wladimire will not fight Peter (or by an off chance Maskaev).

That leaves Chagaev, but with how close his wins are and a manditory title rematch with Valuev, who knows if he'll be WBA titlist by the end of the year. If Valuev wins agaist Chagaev, and if he makes a few adjustments he could, and HE went on to fight Wladimire Klitschko, it would be a fun fight to watch. Neither guy has fought a guy like the other is. This fight W. Klitschko would be the smaller faster man, and he still has more expieriance and power than anyone Valuev has ever fought.

So, in closing, after examining all the other titlists and possible titlists by fight time, outside a puncher's chance, Wladimire would take them all. But in my mind, though not completely unified, we once again have a Heavyweight Champion. Just because greedy promoters, sanctioning bodies, and cable channels want to keep the titles ununified does not make Wladimire Klitschko NOT the Champion, he is.

  6. Chagaev has already proven to be cagy and willing to stay on the outside, eating jabs to land a couple of inconsequential shots of his own.  His work against Valuev proves that you don't have to HURT a man to BEAT a man.  The best unification fight for Wlad to engage in is with Chagaev, but the EASIEST fight is Maskaev. . . right now.

It doesn't matter, though. . . because Sam Peter, when he gets his chance (that he was promised TWO YEARS AGO) he will KO Maskaev. . . . like a bulldog on a porkchop.
