I was appalled and literally sick after reading this story. I know tragedy happens all the time and i always find it heartbreaking, but i just wanted to highlight this example to ask some questions on it....

Why on earth would a family own such a 'death trap' high security car? I thought all cars could be opened from the inside???

Do you think the parents will eventually be named and shamed? Do you believe they should be?

I personally think it is just yet another horrific example of sheer negligence by parents who do not deserve to have a child. It all seems a bit suspicious too. Why would you not query where your young teenage child was?

Opinions welcomed.....

  1. That is just really sad.

I think the parents already have the punishment they deserve.

  2. omg this is so awful. i can't believe they went to bed and left him in the car.

    it's just horrible

  3. uh oh the anti-mccann sanctimony alliance will have a field day with this

  4. Wow, that poor lad.  Poor parents too, I mean, they must really be hating themselves right now.

Then again, I agree with Arque, there must be more to the story...

  5. It's a case of calculated, well planned case of cold murder of own child rarest in rare and nothing less than gas chamber to such parents would meet the ends of justice. Such cases of cruelty are mental torture to all those who hear of this and their response to such cases can only meet the ends of justice. My response is gas chamber to such parents ans nothing less.

  6. Why didn't he toot the horn???

  7. I agree with you this is an horrific thing to happen to a child.  I also agree that the parents should be punished in some form for having left him locked in the car and why, did they leave him there overnight?  I think a lot more information needs to come out on this action by the parents.

  8. NO.... unless it is proved the parents did it on purpose.  The manufacturers of the car should be.  The boy should have been able to get out of the car without difficulty.... he should be able to UNLOCK the car from the inside.   With many brands of cars nowadays, owners are abot to (accidently) imprison people inside their cars by locking the car from the outside with the remote control leaving the passenger(s) unable to open the doors and to get out.    The car I have is brand new and has that problem too. At least I am aware of it.

Years ago I witnessed police and passers by in the Algarve, Portugal,  breaking into a car and rescuing a little dog trapped inside it.  The car was in the blazing sun !!  Window broken, the owner of one of the cafes nearby brought water to the dog.  The dog survived  but we saw him drink gallons of water for half an hour !!!    We were all so happy to see the cutie drink water and survive.  That 13-year old was not as lucky !

  9. may be he does love you, may be he does'nt. What do you think?

  10. This might sound insensitive, coming from a mechanical perspective, but I bet the manufacturer of the vehicle gets slaughtered for this.

WHY DO YOU NEED A CAR THAT DOESN'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE? THAT'S MADNESS!

What's interesting, is that the kid didn't beep the horn for help. Unless a horn that doesn't beep is another "security" feature...

  11. There is something not right about this, they allow there child to stay in a car over night with no means of getting out of the car, there is something missing  something not quite right  about this story

  12. to be honest, i think the story is made the f**k up. either that or it is way overdramatized. you have to realize though that you don't know the whole story. news reporters enjoy drama, and so they may leave stuff out. if they didn't, people wouldn't read it. but the parents might not have known that the boy was still in there, or maybe he did it to himself, or maybe they did know and they didn't help him. you can't look at it from one angle. to be honest another time, it is actually really freaking easy to break out of a car, and the boy must not have been trying very hard. i know this sounds cruel, but you must consider it from every possible standpoint.

  13. What bothers me about this is that every year with depressing regularity you read this type of story. Last year there was the story about a woman who's kids baked to death in a car while their mother was getting her hair done. She got a light sentence because the judge deemed her to be too stupid to understand the consequences of her actions!! When will the penny drop with people, do not lock living things in cars, ever! Simple really isn't it?

By the way,in my car(old banger not high spec) the horn won't work if the keys aren't in the ignition.

  14. OMG that poor little man!!

I hope they get life. They should be named.

    What a death to die.

  15. That is one of the most sickest things any parent would ever do to their own children. I mean, we already heard those stories involving mothers leaving their kids in cars during hot summer temperatures at this time of year, but this is another one of those case involving child neglect. Even so, I wish those parents would be sent to prison.

  16. That is unbeleivably sad :(

  17. Wow that is crazy, I cant believe this story, they'll probably get done for neglect or something, not sure about the laws over there.

  18. What company manufactures a car that you cannot unlock from the inside?

  19. Wow...

    any comments by their parents?

    This was simply cruel.

  20. Unbelievable.  Why would anyone lock a 13 year old in a car?  If they feel he's not capable or grown up enough to be left alone (which personally I don't think he was) then they should have taken him with them.  Another case of children being an inconvenience!

I would charge them with manslaughter.

It will be interesting to see what the French courts decide to do.   Will they be tougher with irresponsible parents or will they do the same as the Portugese and British authorities and decide that the loss of their child was punishment enough, even though it was their fault?

  21. think they should be charged with murder I'm sorry but they obviously knew what they were doing, i think they planned it, nobody can be that stupid
