Do you think the patriots are really legit now as the top contender as their secondary is vastly improved with the hard hitting lynch and combined with the Patriots success making older players play longer and better do you think any team has a chance. The giants are a fluke cause Eli isn't great enough to equal his defense and the Colts just choke most of the time and the chargers my favorite team seem like the best bet along with the cowboys and Jags. I use to think the weakness that the pats have is their secondary but they shored it up so I don't know if the chargers can expose anything now.

  1. i live in boston..love the pats...i think as long as they have bellicheck and brady they're gonna be contenders i just don't see them winning a super bowl this year..last super bowl was a killer for me and im sure for the morale of the team

  2. The  Pats have been a "real contender" since they beat the Rams in the Super Bowl.  Last year they may have been the greatest team of all time.  They collapsed under that pressure. Lynch is well past his prime.  I'd say he's dropped to an average if not below average safety. The Pats will contend again this year even if Lynch is marginally good.

I have a feeling this just might be the Cowboys' year, however.

  3. they were contenders w/o Lynch. he only adds to the force that they'll be. lynch will be 37 & hes still got it. secondary will be just fine. Ellis Hobbs is returning HEALTHY!! and they got Dom Capers & Bill Belichick to help 'em out. they'll be fine. Patriots are of course real contenders. Best Coach.Best QB. Best WR. Of Course!!

  4. ok lets see here they are a huge contender without john lynch and now with a head knocker? i mean seriously think about the patriots right now... believe it or not they are better than last year i mean seriously if another team runs it down the middle they have... seymour, warren, and wilfork to worry about and if they get passed that then they have.. bruschi, vrabel, thomas, and frikin jerod mayo to worry about... then they need to worry about john on the left and rodney on the right... there is no way that any team could get through that defense... i say lets go win the SB patriots all teh way!!! and btw... if u see their schedule its not difficult the patriots should not be less than 14-2

  5. yes but they have always been contenders, lynch is going to make a difference but he is getting pretty old

  6. I WANT TO KNOW HOW THE h**l THE PATRIOTS CAN AFFORD ALL THESE PRO BOWLERS

  7. Just makes they're old defense older. Mr pump big boy, I would worry about the Colts instead of just writing them off. Chargers can go either way this season and I'm not kidding. I could see them losing 4 or 5 games just in their devision if they're not careful. They couldn't score against the Titans or Pats last playoffs, and the Raiders and Chiefs defense isn't getting worse. Don't get cute

  8. Dude.. are you kidding me man? They went 18-1 last year, and you have to ask if their gonna be a contender? They will make it to the superbowl again, but will lose one more time. Btw, they'll be 17-2. Bet on that!!!

  9. Quote from Patriot defensive player:

"Which of you danged kids stole my dentures?"

They have enough old players.  They need speed.

  10. they were a contender before they signed lynch.

  11. Ask yourself why Denver a team looking to make a wild card run Cut Lynch rather then seeking some value for him. That answer your question?

  12. The Patriots didn't need Lynch to be contenders. They are one of two true elite teams in the NFL, along with the Colts consistently winning each season and contending for the Super Bowl.

  13. Legit?

    Are you kidding?

You do remember they went 16-0 last season right?

And lost the Super Bowl by 3 points, right?

They also play in a very weak division and have the easiest schedule in the NFL this year. They only play 4 teams that had winning records last season.

They were more than legit before Lynch's old a s s came along.

They will dominate the regular season again this year.

I doubt they will be undefeated, but they will win at least 13 games.

  14. Well the patriots are always a contender

Adding Lynch sure adds alot physicality to the defense

But like Brady said alot of the teams in the division are getting better and i dont think they will go undefeated again...i think teams are going to be prepared for the passing more and they will be forced to run

The jets got alot better with favre

The dolphins have a new system and a new Qb and i honestly think that they can win 5+games

    The Jags are great too

  15. Lynch is a true safety. He is one of the best. He hit hard and  play zone very well. with the addition of him the patriots have a better defense no doubt. They have 2 good safeties. but they did give up assante. So basically they traded assante for lynch. or replaced assante. They are still a good bet.

  16. well since they lost Asante Samuel i think they might be week in the safety pasition but i still believe they are a great bet for Superbowl contender

  17. Bad Karma bit the Pats in the @ss last year and the same thing will happen again.18-wins and 1 Giant loss baby!!! You cheatin" chowds will never live that down!!!

  18. Well they definitely were already a contender, if not one of the favorites, before they signed him. Honestly I don't see Lynch making them more of contender then they already were the Broncos did cut him for a reason. He'll be a pretty decent addition with his knowledge and experience but his physical ability just isn't at the par that it was when he was younger.

  19. no he's not good anymore.

  20. I hear that the Patriots are in negotiations with Lester Hayes and Ronnie Lott to come out of retirement!
