would be quick to jump to your rescue or aid if there was huge storm headed your way? Or do you feel the way that I do...they are still too busy feeling sorry for themselves, collecting every handout they can to bother worrying about someone else, its been three years and they still do not want to take responsibility for not leaving ar not having insurance or whatever the case may be. I think they would be jealous if a huge storm hit somewhere else...then it may actually take attention and aid from them and they may have to fend for themselves again!!! I bet they are already figuring out which big screen tv they will buy when they get their FEMA money this time!!! Of course this is not the case for ALL of the people in that area, but after having seen everything firsthand down there helping after Katrina...it goes for about 75% of them!!!

  1. I agree. They would still be demanding more money due to Katrina. I bet they demand two checks a month now. One for Gustav and one for Katrina.

  2. I don't know where you live, but your question reveals your ignorance.

Have you ever even been to the Gulf Coast?  I live in Baton Rouge.  After Katrina, the size of our city tripled because of those escaping New Orleans.  The vast majority of those evacuees were not looking for a handout.  They were simply looking for a place to stay.  They paid for the services and goods they received.  Most of them never complained.

Of course, those people aren't put on TV.  The media would rather find someone on welfare (which every city has) and put them on TV.  Those on welfare are mostly uneducated.  They have no idea how government or the economic system is supposed to work.  Of course they whine.  They wouldn't be in that position if they knew how they were supposed to act in the first place.

But 95% of those did not complain or look for a handout.

As for the insurance, many of the insurance companies refused to pay damages because they said the damage was caused by flooding and not by wind.  They tried to make the case that a seperate policy for flood damage was required.  In many cases, homeowners had both forms of coverage, but each insurance provider said that the other should pay.  The homeowner was caught in the middle, unable to rebuild until they settled the dispute.

Also, after 9/11, Louisiana was one of the leading states in sending aid to New York City.  Yes, we would be quick to jump to your rescue.  I just pray that you never go through the devestation that we went through here.

  3. I agree with you.

  4. Some of them would help us IF they could. There's some good folk down Missippi way.New Orleans? Judging by what they did in Katrina I think they would only rob, rape and kill us,just like they did in the superdome.
