As an Asian I thought it was disturbing. I was disappointed to see Pau Gasol do it too.

  1. Their idiots to do something like that...especially Pau and Marc. I thought they were more mature then that.

If I were an asain I would be very mad. Especially since the Olympics are in China.

  2. Why even bring it up not everything is meant to be racist.

As a whole our society has lost focus on trying not to be racist and is looking for anything that could be racist and bending some of the most obscure events to look racist.

Media today has created a different type of hate its called social hate. This exists more so then actual racism. The more you hear a black man did this a white man did this , mexican, etc...  You create a hatred towards the social behaviors of the color of skin or origin of the person.

There is an increased social hatred of mexicans right now, because you hear the media constantly analyzing the borders and how they are using our system to get government handouts. Should this be a point  interest? OF course it should , but it should be handle differently. The people aren't to blame it is our government.

The more money you give to the poor the less they will want to earn for them selves.

So please don't turn this into a racial thing or even think such a thing. You are being skeweded in your own thoughts by listening to the media ask that simple question.

  3. at first i thought it was nth and they didnt mean any anything. but after reading on what excuses the players gave, like how they were forced and forced again to do that pose, I thought that was plain stupid and they should have done some thinking before that.

  4. I'm Chinese, and usually it doesn't bother me when other people make fun of it, but when a Spain's national basketball team does it, it is pretty insulting.  And these are grown men we are talking about- ADULTS!  I'm a bit disappointed in Pau Gasol too, he's one of my favorite players on the Lakers and a true bball star.

  5. dont know if it is racist...but its definetely insensitive. much like shaq's butchering/mocking of the chinese language when yao first arrived in the league.

but c'mon they should know better.

as an american and knowing how PC everything is...u cant really hold a different country to that same standard.

u can only beat their asses in games...

hope yao and the rockets got something for pau and the lakers this coming season too

  6. Well, it might have just been a joke (like they were teasing them), and they might not have really meant any harm. However, it was foolish of them not to think of the consequences before doing it.

And by the way Pau Gasol wasnt totally in love with idea of teasing the Chinese. He said he was forced to cuz the rest of the team wanted to do it.

  7. I thought it was a hilarious joke.

Is any of you complaining actually living in Asia? I haven't heart any complaints from Asia, only Asian Americans seem to care.
