Do you think Soriano's absence has made the Cubs a fundemantally dumber baseball team?

Are you anxiously awaiting Soriano's return? Can Soriano really help the Cubs offense?

  1. Maybe with Soriano coming back they can get some power back. Honestly they need to put him batting third. Lee and Ramirez choke in the clutch. My lineup shake up

    1. Theriot

    2. Fukudome

    3. Soriano

    4. Lee

    5. Ramirez

    6. Edmonds

    7. Soto

    8. DeRosa

    9. Pitcher

  2. I'd be careful with the terms "slump" and "streak." People use them all the time and they always have either extremely negative or extremely positive reactions.

There are going to be games where a team doesn't score. Some will call it a slump, some will call it a few bad days.

But when there's a team that's been as dominant as the Cubs, it's easy to imagine they'll pick right back up.

  3. i dont see this continuing for long

they will turn it around, and soriano will definitely help

im not a cubs fan, but rather a baseball fan, so in a way im anxious to see the guy back

  4. Yes the players are to blame.  When your 2,3,4 hitters are not producing runs it's hard for any team to win.  The Cubs have a solid lineup top to bottom and are very capable of exploding at any time.  I don't expect this to last very long, it's just a slump.  The Cubs have held onto the division lead for a long time and they've done most of it without Sorinao.  So the Cubs have proven most of the year without Soriano.  As for your question on will Soriano make a difference.  Of course he will.  He's already proven that when he's hot he can carry the entire team.  His hot streak may also spark other players bats as well.  When Soriano comes up to bat and hits a leadoff home run to start the game, it gets the Cubs out to an early lead and makes the opposing team have to chase them.  So yes Soriano makes a huge difference in the Cubs lineup.
