How, do you think, will the government be able to contain it if it does, God forbid?

  1. If no foreign government decides to join the fray by sending in logistics, I believe the present armed component of the Republic can deal with the rebels.

However,  if logistics pour into the rebel camps, the AFP can be brought to either a stalemate or be overwhelmed.

Given the poor finances of the Govt., we may not be able to mobilize reinforcements in time.  So, the only solution is for Malacanang to invite the US Ambassador for coffee, and suggest that it is to their mutual interest that American Marines or some Delta Force equivalent for the Far East,  clear the "terrorist hideouts".   We can also call in the Wowowee dancers to keep the US marines company.  If this happens, I think our own Philippine Marines would simply swim across if only to avail themselves of the same benefit.

  2. hopefully not... if yes, then God forbids, another Marshall Law...

  3. I hope not  my wife is in Tacurong  .Now  on holiday  Lots of family live there

  4. It will be confined to places where war is evidently usual. The government may have something to do with it. In the 1st place they were the first to make such an issue - a preemptied problem for their own interests. God Forbid these people will still be leading us in 2010!

  5. Of course it will spread. There are two things that Gloria MUST do to have peace in Mindanao (and I bet she won't do them).

    1.   Disarm MILF

    2.   Deal only with winners of the ARMM election, and not MILF.

Of course what can you expect of her and her lawyers that either don't know or don't respect the Constitution?

  6. I'm afraid so. The true root of the conflict had not been solved yet. The MOSLEMS wants Mindanao to be their own. They argue that they own this land since this is their ancestral domain. And, they have several evidences, yes, signed papers to prove that. There was this treaty with previous presidents about returning Mindanao to Moslems by the year 2005 but since it did not materialize, they're doing everything they can to reclaim what they believe to be originally theirs.

And, we should prepare yet for another set of war, not just between MILF and the government but mark my word for it, due to this conflict, many vigilantes will come out... it never ends...

  7. Pretty much yes. Either they join the rebellion or the government.
