They made PRONGER the CAPTAIN? I think if Niedermeyer was still the Captain, they would have atleast made it to the Conference Semis!

2- Should they take away his C and make him just another t**d in the line-up if Niedermeyer returns this year?

3- Do you think GABE KAPLAN would make a better Captain than Pronger? If not.. name someone that would be a better Captain than Pronger?

1. No, I think Pronger is a good captain, he lead Edmonton to the finals in 05-06.

2. I would choose Ryan Getzlaf to replace Pronger if he left the team.

No... they lost because Selanne and Neidermayer totally ruined the team but waiting to play again.  They were forced to get rid of Andy McDonald because of it.

1. Yes. Pronger is a little gobshite, he is a poor leader.

2. Yes, they should also make him the janitor for the arena, apparently, it's what he wanted to be before he became a gobshite in the NHL.

3. I believe, Mike Danton or Jason Bonsignore have better leadership skills then Pronger. Hey, maybe even Ronald McDonald should be captain of the Ducks, they are after all, made from Disney, land of make belief.

No.  No i do not.  Unless you play for the team you have no way of knowing what his leadership abilities are like.  just cause you don't like him doesn't mean he's not qualified for the captaincy.

Erica-Oh i totally agree that Niedermayer sets a better example from our perspective.  But there is so much that goes on that you will miss unless you're on the ice with them.  Back when I was playing junior we had a guy on our team who was crazy as h**l, and was suspended constantly, but all the crazy stuff he did was in defense of his teammates.  We all respected him and were grateful for that.  He made it clear to us that it would be him doing the defending, and not us.  He worked hard in practice and was a great captain.  To me Pronger seems the exact same.  Those dumb penalties you see that seem pointless are really just him telling another player not to s***w with his teammates.

I agree that when it's put into words what he does should get him kicked off the team, but when you know a guy always has your back you listen to him.  if you see a guy drop his gloves for you you're going to be loyal to him.  Plus it doesn't matter what we think of him from a captain's stand point, just what his teammates think of him.

1. If Anaheim Had Scotty at the beginning of the season plus had Andy MacDonald still( not have Todd Bertuzzi as well) They would have been back in the finals!! I know if Scotty wasn't pondering retirement for that long the Ducks wouldn't had Matt S on Defense as well.

2. Yes if Scotty doesn't return but Give the C to Scotty if he does.

3. Anyone on that team(minus the goalies) could be a better captain than Pronger, but as good as Scotty N? Doubt it. Maybe Getlaf if he is givin time to mature into a great leader?
