  1. Yes.

I really think we've crippled their industry and economy by giving them so much.  We not only have not taught them how to fish, but we've taught them that we'll show up regularly with fish.

I think we should forgive the debts and then leave them be.  So many of our "charitable acts" have severe unintended consequences that only make them more dependent.  I think we're doing more harm than good in many cases.

  2. Because the Elite need these countries to stay just how they are, as they use them for testing their drugs and viruses on, Africa has been a boon to Big Pharmaceutical industry for their experiments.

  3. "In light of World Bank and other studies concluding aid does not correlate with development or poverty reduction in recipient countries"

Could you cite the web site or articles you are referring to? Because the World Bank most definitely *does* believe that aid contributes to development in recipient countries.

Having seen first hand the effects of aid funding, my answer is most definitely NO -- the funding must not stop. The world is filled with development success stories (Liberia, Angola, Kenya, Rwanda, the countries of Eastern Europe, and on and on). It's good not only for people in those countries, its good for Western business.

  4. Yes! For century it has been the mechanism to dissolve Poverty whilst at Present it has increased global corruption that > One needs to grease once palm before business of the day is conduct. We do not stand a chance any more to pump up monetary system to empathy developing countries within Global Village whilst today more global Free Trade is at Threat for what needs to be plant for the Poor consumer. There is much critical debate on GM crops which associates itself of helping out the hunger of today.

Justification of its contribution as solution derail agenda at hand for citizenship whilst the state of fragile can only constitutes itself as global player by only finding itself on how to empower its citizens to remove their so called wailing burden from Upper Class elite and its institutionalize bodies.

At present with globalism crisis and cold war mind set there is more at stack for continuation to use Aid as the only mechanism to combat Poverty.

Certain Institutionalize bodies needs immediate mandate and sharpen skills to execute the real responsibility before Aiding the Voter in Zimbabwe & Refugee in Chad.

  5. As other answerer's have written, please reference your source of the study or studies.

I believe that while any development needs to be internalized and "bought into" to be sustained, and thus the population that the monetary aid is being directed at need to be seen as agents of their own development, there is plenty of proof that aid of sufficient amount and maintained for sufficient time (e.g. The Marshall Plan) is effective in putting aid recipients on the way to reduce poverty.

Thus I say monetary aid to developing states should not be halted.

  6. I find it difficult to believe anything that the World Bank has to say.  If I live in a 'rich' country then why are my teeth falling out?  And how is it that my son, like so many others, unable to get proper nourishment?

Mayhaps the assistance should go instead to the working poor of the so-called rich countries.

Hmmmm....but then are not all of the wealthy countries deeply in debt to the World Bank???
