Ok so I go to a non-uniform school and its pretty relaxed. We do have that rule though that all miniskirts must come down to at least your finger tips. So I kind of like dressing up so I like to wear kind of out there things (but not too much). So on Friday I wore tall shiny black boots (medium heel), fishnets, a miniskirt and a plainish top. One of my teachers said my outfit was completly inappropriate and if I ever came wearing something like this again I would be sent home. I don't really see why there was anything wrong since my skirt met the whole fingertip thing and the top wasn't too you know revealing. Also I always wear that sort of thing and no one bothers me about it. Do you think this teacher was right to threaten me or do you think she was being unreasonable?

  1. One time I was out and about and I saw a girl in something vaguely similar walking down the street and thought "Gee, what's a hooker doing out at this hour?"

It turns out, she wasn't a hooker, she was a student, but she was dressed in such a way that did not flatter her morality.

I don't think your teacher was being unreasonable. The miniskirt may have been of regulation length but combined with fishnet and high boots I think it does not speak kindly of your moral character, and you will find that is important in life.

You also need to be considerate of the people around you. Would you want to sit in a math class where the instructor was dressed in spandex? Probably not.

  2. u should really look into ur student handbook under the dress code policies. if nothing like this is mentioned then refer her to ur principal. also she could have found it offensive if ur skirt rode up while u were seated.

  3. It was probably the fishnets that did it.  Fishnets + mini skirt = hooker

  4. no she was just doing her job you were being a brat.............

the only school that would have been appropriate  is w***e school   ................ and that's not where you were or why you were at school ...............

just wait till you have a daughter!!!!

ps it should be right    .....................

not as you have written write..........................

so pay more attention to lessons and less to your outrageous

    attire!!!!

  5. Dressing like a hooker at school is not appropriate.

If you want to play dress-up on your own time, go for it, but have a little respect for other students at school, and stop trying to get attention for your "look".

  6. You were dressed like a street walker.  That is not appropriate at school.

  7. The teacher was right. That kind of attire is not appropriate for school. Maybe for a party, but not for school.

  8. Actually, your teacher was right (not write). Worry about what you are learning instead of what you are wearing.

  9. Check your student handbook to see if there is some generic comment about the way that you have to dress - you know, just "dress must be appropriate for a learning environment" and also check how the rules are enforced - can a teacher just send a student home ?

I would find out exactly what the rules are, and then consistently push them like you have been doing.  That's what you're young for !  And if you get treated unfairly challenge that, it's all one of the best parts of being young and being able to do it before you get to the real world !

  10. It's summer time ... and you wore boots, shiny ones at that.

You're in high school ... and you wore fishnets, with shiny boots.

Your outfit wasn't "out there", it was beyond there, such as hooker, street walker, "Sweet Charity" attire.

The outfit you describe is not exactly dressing up, it is what most psychiatrists would call "acting out behavior".  You are testing your limits, calling attention to yourself, trying to be different.  And yet, your behavior is anything but unique, different, edgy, creative or fashionable.  What you describe sounds just, well .... trashy.

Do you want to be remembered in 25 years by your school friends as the one who dressed like a prostitute?  Is that what you want to be proud of?  Really?

And, apparently you spend way too much time worrying about what to wear so you can shock everyone and not enough time learning.  "Write":  to form words, letters, etc. on a surface, as with a pen.  "Right":  correct, fitting, suitable, exact.

  11. To be honest, as a step-mom of a p*****n, I'm horrified to see the things that are being worn at school today. I'm only 26 btw. School is about learning so that one day you will have the ability to go out into this world and act responsibly. I wouldn't even wear something like that in public unless it was maybe Halloween. You should have more respect for yourself than to wear things like that. I know it's the cool thing to do now but outfits like that only encourage sexual thoughts from guys and sexual activity way before you are emotionally ready for it. And i know that this is going to get a lot of response about teenagers are emotionally and mentally responsible enough to have s*x and things like that, but your not. I used to say the same thing and believe, I look back and I'm ashamed of things that I did back then and I'm not even talking about s*x. I do believe you have the freedom to express yourself but looking like your about to make a p**n video is irresponsible and inappropriate. Your teacher was completely right.
