You know I never really thought about that, but that does sound right. Silva lost so should have to start to climb up the ladder again, and Jardine already beat Liddell who beat Silva so yeah you're right.

That is interesting.  I think my answer is yes, that would have been better and more fair.

That would be a couple of good fights but I think the UFC was looking at things from a business angle, and not a great MMA fight angle.  First off with Machida's style being very hard against Ortiz it makes the match favor Machida, and UFC wants Ortiz to lose, thus reducing his "free agent" value.  Likewise the UFC is looking for a rematch between Rampage and Liddell sometime, and if Silva beats Jardine and Liddell has already beaten Silva then Liddell becomes the next fight for rampage.  Your fights would have been good, but I don't really mind the way the fights are now.

That is a GREAT point. Ortiz-Silva 2 is what the fans would want to see.
