  1. she sounds like a busy body. why cant people leave youths alone. they got bugger all to live for except get drunk and smoke. theres no apprentiseships a employers only employs them for cheap labour. they cant afford to get on the property market...they cant afford to insure cars or motorbikes so they dont..they cant drink till 18 but can die for their country at 17. these are the people that will be running this country in 30 times...

I hope they do a better job cos my generation ****** it up....

No discepline... No backbone..and do gooders....why ban the cane? thats when it went downhill and the introduction of no win no fee solicitors..

  2. Clearly, they should be arrested and charged. They should also caution the woman against provoking people with her busy bodying.

  3. Isn't this a matter for the British Transport Police, as it happened at a station?

Most stations are no smoking now, especially the covered ones.  I was at a station on Tuesday and a man was having a clandestine cig, but there weren't any 'no smoking' signs around.

  4. I doubt it, but whether she was wrong or not depends where they were smoking as it's possible they were doing so illegally.

Plus if they were deliberately blowing smoke at her or something similar then they were committing an offence and she had every right to tell them to stop.

I don't think the Yahoo story gives enough info for anyone to judge, really.

  5. This was a deliberate act and if I could be the judge at the trial of these criminals I would ensure that the punishment deterred all future acts of this sort. 25 years each solitary confinement except when undertaking hard labour such as rock breaking on Dartmoor, and no early release.

Oops! sorry, Labour has gone soft on criminals, they need them out quickly for voting at election purposes.

  6. leave us smokers alone..

  7. It's bad enough we've got a smoking ban without all this . . . .

  8. i want to know if she is going to foot the bill for all that electricity she used.

  9. Nothing would surprise me, but I don't think we have the full story.

  10. Isn't "human rights" a balancing act between the rights of the individual and society at large? Haven't they got to be able to show that they used reasonable force if they were going to argue to defend themselves?

Oh, sorry. Just realised you were being ironic? Or do you believe everything you read or hear in the media?

  11. Whatever the circumstances, nobody should be pushed onto railwey tracks.
