Do you think the world Will end?

We've experienced many disasters recently, we are at war, and possibly will escalate with Iran, N Korea and the Georgia declaring war on Russia conflict.

but now scientist are saying that by the end of summer the north pole will melt!

2012 is around the corner, and Nostradamus said a significant change would occur come December, and the Aztecs and Mayans said a New age of man would begin December 2012

People are predicting the world is going to end all the time. How on earth would they know? And why on earth should you believe them. Trust me, there are much more realistic things for you to be worrying about. And if the world does 'end' while you're still alive, does it really matter because everyone's in the same boat and there's nothing that you can do about it. So just get on with your life and deal with it if and when it happens.

Furthermore, the earth as a planet will definitely end at some point and it's mass and energy will move so some other part of the universe but we're talking in MILLIONS of years time here so no worries.

All I can say is live every day like it is your last!  The world may or may not end but your life may end sooner than that happens, so be prepared for the worst but expect the best :)

There are many theories surrounding 2012, but there again so were there about the year 2008, 2000, even the year 1999.

If the end were coming I feel it would be more likely caused by man's indiscretion, rather than by an act of nature.

eventually, i don't think the north pole will melt in the next month, unless I just havn't watched tv. I'd think people'd be freaking out. Even still we could limp on 20 or more years with out the north pole. I'm ready for mad max, I train in the thunder dome and keep a case of water and beans in the basement.

Whatever the general perspective of the society we find ourselves in, I will freakin' guarantee the world will not come to an end just because we think it might. Consider these things:

-After Christmas with decreased buyer confidence and loss of mortgage investment funds we may be looking at a truly huge depression.

-Once the polar ice melts we may well lose all the polar bears which can't adapt to life with land under them or swim d#mn far.

-With increased contact between cultures globally through cheap travel and the internet we are being forced to be tolerant in ways our ancestors never had to face and it will require a massive shift in how we view our communities.

-We will NEVER get back the animal species that the acceleration of technology has killed off.

But will the world actually end? No. Three words.

Life. Goes. On.

Life in all its forms adapts to the prevailing conditions and produces forms and creatures suitable to sustain themselves and making more suitable examples. Whether we're there to see it or not. And regardless of what we're doing to each other at the time.

We and our societies may not continue in their present forms or beliefs for much longer, it depends on how adaptable we and our offspring prove to be. Our arrogance, thankfully however, will not end all life on earth.

Why permit the mind to become cluttered with such fearful and heinous thoughts...... And when did the Mayabs become so darn popular as far as being able to create a perfect calendar that just happens to fortell the future.... I believe it's a load of hogwash, and people want to scare you into believing them so they can profit from your fear. I take my lessons from history.... it seems that every generation is full of crackpots and seers that know all answers to the mysteries. I think there was a lot of hype surroung the years 1999 and 2000, about the world coming to and end, judgement day, etc etc, but the only judgement day I forsee is the one people place upon one another, and that is a sadness I wish not to explore deeply. There have been terrorists since the age of man, since people learned that scaring the h**l out of you could control your actions, it's just being exploited to scare us and to mess up our minds. Read about fear, and how it can cause people to be delusional, and feel trapped, and how it is a constricting force.... Hey if it happens, so be it, but to be afraid of it happening will only be asking for it to happen.... Why do I try and answer these questions :) I'm just trying to help people open their minds, and myself!

Hopefully its not going to be 2012... thats my graduating year. That would totally suck... im sure nothing is going to happen that will end the world by then.......... its kinda freaky 2 think about tho.
