  1. I personally think that this not true because no one can really predict earthquakes. The technonology that we have right now cannot predict earthquakes but can only tell the magnitude and location after it happened.

  2. "THIS MAY BE TRUE,THIS MAY BE NOT.BUT THERE IS ONE THING FOR SURE-EARTHQUAKES CANNOT BE PREDICTED."!!!!

  3. Ho!! From Manila--- it is our ASEAN people.  I,  OLD/M from S'pore ---now 1900 on 10/07/08 (Thurs)  Not much different in time, right.

We have no earthquake, but each time it happened in Indonesia or Philippine, we got the kick or shake of it. Like a Dance but we feel for the people over there as we ARE FRIENDS

It is true that the two countries I mentioned had & will have regular earthquakes and others because you are within the volcanic belt of the Pacific.   The detection stations within the region could sense the coming or development of the next ONE but no firm date or time.  They are suppose to give some kind of warning to get people to be ready for it.   Japan techno-Stn is the big brother for all this reaction to be pass on to other countries.   DON'T CARE THE DATE ---JUST BE ALERT & BE PREPARED.......OK.

  4. REALLY!? actually it happened last july8! and i felt it so much.im from manila too justsoyouknow. :)

  5. Yes.  Earthquakes happen just about everywhere, everyday.  When one pebble drops from on top of a rock to the ground, that is an earthquake.  When a passing truck shakes the road, that is an earthquake.  Since Manila has pebbles and trucks, I am quite sure that Manila has earthquakes every day.

As to the chance of Manila having a very strong earthquake -- magnitude 5 or stronger -- on July 18 or any other particular date, the chance is about zero.   The last 'quake of that magnitude was 175 km away from Manila, on July 6th.

A guy with an computer can spread predictions about anything.  For example, I predict that on July 18 in Manila, a man in a red shirt will eat some chicken in hot sauce.

  6. You have mentioned as rumor. So far nobody has born to predict the occurrence of earthquakes. I am the one issued the warning 2 hours before Tsunami struck our coast. Not by prediction. Just by close observation only. But my warning was ignored. You may please type A.Ganapathy India in google search engine and read thousands of my answer on earth science .You can find some of the unproved methods in it.

  7. apparently there has been movement of plates recorded but no one can predict that.
