Do you think there are more believers in global warming or naysayers?

At first I thought a lot more people bought into the global warming scam...it's nice to see many more sensible people on here.

If the GW is "locked in stone", man-made problem.... why does Al gore need a $300 million ad campaign to convince the public??  and where is the money coming from???  

Answer: The money is coming from companies who will profit from the scam!

Every so called scientists that claims GW, can be countered with a scientist who disputes it. NASA claims that GW is measured by the ocean temps., and they dont find any warming of the ocean waters. (But im sure the GW crowd will say NASA isn't qualified on GW maters.... not like Gore!)

As long as there are people who believe in the supernatural, Jesus, Alah, God, Sylvia Browne, Zues, Thor, Buddah, Moses, Homeopathy medicine, "Alternative" medicine, acupuncture, Chiropractors, voodoo, Angels, Satan, the 5th Immam, The end of the world, Taoism, the "soul", Big Foot, Abominable Snowmen, and Fairies, there will be Environmentalists

Environmentalists who feel that everything was good before humans evolved, and somehow in the same manner as religion will assign blame to humans for what they consider the earf's ills. Given enough ammo the Environmentalist agenda supports population control, feels that the world would be much better if humans didn't exist, and would support annother hollocost if the first wasn't so unpopular.

Maybe I have insulted those of you with irrational beliefs and faith in that which has been disproven or can not be disproven.

I'm fairly certain that all intelligent people believe in global warming because we have proof that the world is warming. Now, whether or not it's our fault is a different story. I still think that most people agree that it is our fault, but it's probably 80/20

Those who accept the environmental anomalies, such as myself, have found other outlets to find intelligent give/take instead of the myopic continuation of unproductive banter and rhetoric. My group however, no longer refer to it as "Global Warming", which in and of itself, causes dissension.

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and the freedom to express rejection of information. However, one common thread among those who find available information worth being concerned about, is we all hope we are wrong and you are right.

Man-made global warming is happening.  Fact!  

What is less certain, (in the developed world), is what the consequences will be and how long it will be before it becomes a problem.

Given this uncertainty, many people want to carry on as before, while many politicians and business leaders tell them what they want to hear.  

The thing that makes most people skeptical (in the UK) is the fact that the government, knowing that as a nation we can do nothing to prevent it, use the issue to raise revenue.

In other words, people believe there is an argument against global warming, because the government make money out of it!

Global warming is a component in a group of destructive forces at work ,it is not the only one , but  other factors which we are responsible for ,are rapidly making it the worst .

We are now  witnessing a mass   Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions,equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs.

Who cares what it is called or WHY EXACTLY  IT IS HAPPENING ,What or who is to blame

If we want to save ourselves as a specie ,we have to address

Yes, polls have showed that there are.  About 80% of the population worldwide and 70% in the USA accept the scientific reality that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.  See link below.

Why on earth would you think it's a scam? Have you read any of the scientific reports on the subject?

You can't find out the truth by doing a few googles and reading the opinions of non-scientists (or scientists writing outside of their own field of research).  You can only educate yourself on the subject properly if you read what the actual climate scientists that have been studying it say.

I have read a great deal of scientific literature on global warming and I mean scientific journals not editorials in a newspaper. One of the papers was written by one of the scientists that won 1/1000th of the other half of Al Gore's Nobel prize (which he has now denounced as a sham based on Gore's winning the other half).  Those who believe all scientists of stature are on the side of man-caused global warming are badly mistaken and unbelievably naive.  Two scientists from Oregon recently published an article in a medical journal concerning carbon dioxide and global warming - a very interesting and well documented article.  There is no doubt that the world is warming but it is still not as warm as it was in the Medieval Warming period several hundred years ago. Also, by all measurements of global temperatures in 2007 - the average temperature was .5 to .75 degrees Celcius cooler than average - the largest single one-year drop since records have been kept on a worldwide basis. This undoes about 100 years of global warming according to these Oregon scientists.  Rather than state or insuinate that anyone who does not believe in global warming caused by man is some kind of intellectual midget, perhaps it would be better if all of the people who already know everything  would just take time to close their mouths and open their minds instead of the other way around. We're all on this planet together and it has been warmer and colder than it is today. And regardless of how egocentric mankind may be - the earth is governed by forces infinitely more complex and much greater than man - and always will be.

What a dumb question. Your second sentence shows us all that you already know which answer you'll pick, so why did you even bother asking it?

Reading some of the answers from global warming sceptics on Yahoo Answers has convinced me that:

1. Yahoo Answers Global Warming thread is not a place where many scientifically literate people hang out. I can just about count the number of people on this thread who genuinely understand the basics of atmospheric science on one hand (and the current "top answerer" is NOT one of them).

2. It's the only place here where young up-and-coming rabid bible-thumping conservative zealots can air their stupid conspiracy and "I hate Al Gore" views because genuine science blogs or publications would just laugh at them and tell them to get back to the classroom.

Clearly the number of deniers here on Yahoo Answers are far from representative of the general population.  This is just a place where people in denial can express themselves, and feel like they have some company, so they make a lot of noise.  

If it's a scam, where is the peer-reviewed science exposing that fact?  People are asked that quiestion on a daily basis here, and all we get is a bunch of babbling about Al Gore and some wild paranoid conspiracy theories.  That is more appealing to you than the conclusion of thousands of scientists?
