  1. well, steve coppell just pinched his 4th signing for Reading from Cork City .....................

  2. somehow, i dont see Rangers having an agreement with Shamrock Rovers lol

but possibly there will be talent there.  just like in scotland - slightly smaller population than us.

  3. if thats the case , rangers and celtic should employ SKIPPY and LASSIE .they were great at finding folk at the bottom of wells.

  4. definatly, al you need to do is look at the Irish and Northern Irish national sides. Many of the players are from the championship and even some of the lower leagues. Over the years the standard of Irish Domestic football hasnt really changed, it is poor but they are a small country like us, dwarfed by the EPL, but i do think your right.

Teams like Motherwell, Killie and Dundee United have got decent youth systems, and havent got the big budget, so if they were to pinch a few youngsters from the Irish devisions who have potential, spend a few seasons working with them and theyl have as close as a homegrown talent as youl get. Also, as there is no need for work permits etc, its quite a good idea and worth looking into.

  5. your a laugh pal!..ireland??..i the unlikely chance of finding any real talent over there they aint coming here are they?..epl bound with the not so good ones ending up here..fact im afraid..

  6. well i remember the most famous one,the last time a seen him though was on Blackpool beach, and not kidding he had it all the physique, stamina,a good eye for the line and he was fast

am sure you all know who i'm talking about

    plied his trade in Ireland

    plied his trade in England

and he was just about to play in Arabia

who is this famous Irish hero?

Give you a clue,he was more famous than Georgie, and yet his career ended as dogfood

    that's right it was SHERGAR

  7. a few diamonds in the rough.

  8. Levein's bought a few players from the Irish leagues, Sean Dillon from Shelbourne for £50k and he had a superb 1st season for us, Jon Daly as well although he's been unlucky with injuries since he signed. I wouldn't say well of talent but like most European leagues there's definitely some gems there.

  9. huge ugly Irish people who dont care about their faces, for sure bro, always an advantage

  10. unfortunately my friend money has destroyed raw talent its easier to buy ready made without the hassle of looking at lesser leagues

  11. Sorry Saoirse, I still can't take the signing of McCourt seriously.

  12. Yep just have to look at Drogheda Utd in the Qualifiers for the champions league.

Got to be some decent players in that side to go away to kiev and get a 2-2 draw.

  13. honestly saoirse i think there is untapped talent everywhere..people just need to look closer to home and the youth systems and more importantly give the youngsters a chance, instead of relying on epl rejects..unfortunately we demand immediate success..well celtic and rangers do, so we tend not to take as many chances on our youngsters which is a shame

  14. we await with baited breath when our Paddy McCourt comes on...he is playing reserves right now to get match fit..but I am hoping for his miracles soon!!

  15. without a doubt and as the guy above me said, roy keane seems to find some cracking players. mccourt has been excellent apparently but is struggling with the increased fitness levels

  16. If there is.Roy Keane will find it.He's getting anybody and nobody.
