stricking your head agaist the glass of the microwave when your young?

The only reason I ask is that both my friend and I are at uni studying courses heavily depended on maths (100% in last coursework) and we use to spend our time as children with our heads agaist the microwave watching things cook with great fasination!

I don't think there is a direct connection except for the curiosity factor.  Maybe you and your friend were both just fascinated by learning.  Hence the intrigue of what the heck was going on inside the microwave; and the fascination with numbers and knowledge.  

Curious people turn into smart people.  (btw, there IS a difference between curiosity and nosiness!)
