Do you think there is any team that every hockey fan can agree they like...?

Now, before some people get angry, I know this may seem like a stupid question without an answer, but as Yahoo! Answers tells me "How will you know if you don't ask?" lol

But, do you think there is any team that everybody likes? I know every team has its rivialries, but is there any team that we can all agree we like?

Atlanta, maybe? They aren't the best team nor the worst team. They aren't much of a threat(except Kovalchuk)...they are essentially harmless.

That is my best stab at the answer.

What do you think is the one team that every hockey fan can agree they like? If there is one....

This was actually a good question...Now time for a bad answer, a simple no. The answer would be no for every sport.

Two people already said the Blues, I don't think there are many Red Wings or Blackhawks fans that like the Blues.

I've enjoyed this question - it gets to the heart of the matter.

The simple answer is 'no' - it doesn't matter how interested you are in the wider game, you are going to end up preferring one team and/or becoming a fan.  By default, that is going to polarize your thinking, and there will be one or more teams you can't stand!

I'm very peaceful normally, and find it funny that whenever I'm watching my team play, the opposition, however much I respect their team, becomes a bunch of uglies that must be eliminated!  Before and after the game I can be quite rational about them, but during... never.

You've got to remember all the traditional rivalries, too - as a Red Wings fan, I'd practically be committing heresy if I liked the Avalanche as well!  Actually, my particular team to hate with a passion is the Ducks, though I might even cut them some slack if young Pronger got traded, lol.

I would say Columbus. They are in a terrible division (geographically speaking,) Probably in the wrong conference, and in such a hockey neutral city (where Ohio State getting blown out by SEC schools gets front page) and still in their infancy as a franchise.

I personally always thought the Blues were kinda tool bags.

  I agree the team with the least amount of haters has to be the Yotes...  even as a Ducks fan and being in the same division there really isn't any bad blood. Partly because until last season the we walked dominated them for a few years.

    On a side note.. I like the fact the Ducks are one of the top hated teams in the NHL.  The Disney factor, the Pronger factor and the California factor warm weather factor makes them an easy target for most.

Well I don't think there is.   The closest I think would be the Blues you don't see many Blue haters.

I am pretty sure we can rule out the Leafs, judging by comments from that place our money goes to die. Pretty sure we can rule them (Sens) out as well. The bitterness has gone out of the Toronto - Montreal rivalry and that would leave the Habs as close as we're probably going to get, if you are talking about teams with a long history. I can't see a lot of people hating the Blackhawks either. Their top rivalry was Detroit and the bitterness seems to have gone out of that one too.

Some of the newer teams, Columbus and Phoenix for example, have not been around long enough, nor done enough playoff damage, to warrant a lot of hatred. 'Not hating' is probably not close enough to 'liking' to qualify.

I see someone said Flyers. hee hee hee, ha ha ha, hooooooooo, that's a good one, Bill. Well all I can say is, they're a lot more tolerable without Bobby Clarke. Whew. I think I broke something.

Probably not. People tend to like the teams with their favorite players or the team that is local.

I am only answering this because I hate the LAFFS.  I think that is one team everyone can agree to dislike.  The only exception is if you are from the center of the universe (Toronto).  I am sure there are lots of ppl that would agree with me.

That's 2 for the Flyers.Great city,which smells wonderfully,nice people everywhere you look,a National artifact that has nothing wrong with it and looks like the day they made it(Liberty Bell),skinny people everywhere and the team ALWAYS plays clean.Plus when you come to the game in an opposing teams' sweater you are welcomed with a handshake and pat on the back and told"Good luck to your Rangers".

There are teams that every hockey fan might RESPECT, but there are times where we just can't STAND another team.

Like you Jacob, as a Leafs fan, might respect the Habs (wishful thinking) but as a Leafs fan, it would take a lot for you to root for them, possibly even against Ottawa.

I personally hate the Thrashers but that's just cause they're in the Caps division.  So I'd say Phoenix because let's face it we really don't care about them because until last season didn't even have a player the most avid hockey fan could name off the top of their head, and they have Gretzky as their coach and as hockey fans we all pull for the great one to do well.  I wouldn't say we all like they we're just all pretty much indifferent, and are moderately pleased when we hear they won or pulled off a good trade.

You didn't say it had to be an NHL team, or even a hockey team for that matter. So I'm going to go with the team of regulars to the Y!A hockey section. That's by far the best group of people ever assembled.

As far as NHL, maybe the Bruins might be a candidate for the list. Though I cheer for a NY team, I don't really look at the Bruins as rivals, and as poorly as they have played the past few years, nobody really seems to hate them. Plus they're an Original Six team.

I think just about the same could be said of the Blackhawks.

Then the previously mentioned teams, the Thrashers, Blue Jackets, Coyotes, and Blues I'd keep on the list.

Maybe the Blues.  I personally have no opinion on them - I don't like them or hate them.  But I never see people talking about them much on Yahoo, so I guess nobody dislikes them!
