Do you think there is something wrong with me? or is this normal?

Just recently I've noticed I have lots of odd symptoms and I was wondering if I have an attention disorder ( like ADD/ADHD) or if this is normal.

I've always kind of found it hard to make friends.

I talk to myself a lot, like make up stories when I'm alone.

I have hugely random mood swings.

I've been finding it REALLY hard to concentrate at school.

I lose focus quickly.

I can be very forgetful, but sometimes I remember very random things from years ago.

I cry at the drop of a hat.

I jabber on about random c**p.

When I am bored I get shakey and I have to physically restrain myself not to eat.

I over-eat a lot and don't exercise enough.

I have no will power

I have thought about this before and have thought of more things, which I forget for now, but if I remember more I'll add them.

Thankyou.

  1. To a large extent, it sounds to me like you're just human. :)

Now granted, I'm not a psychologist, so I'm officially not dispensing medical advice... but if you feel it gets out of control to the point of not being able to function normally (ie. overeating, unexplainable crying), I would say then yes you should get some professional help.  It's not a bad thing to have to ask for help from someone who has the proper credentials, and knows how to better help than anyone in this forum, because they went to school for it and work with it almost daily. Of course, sometimes it comes down to having issues bigger than advice can solve, and meds can be used to help balance your human chemistry to where it needs to be.

Above all, don't give up.. they say that when you're old and on your deathbed, you'll look back at yourself and realize that 99% of all the stuff you worried about was really of no consequence whatsoever, and just made you age quicker.  Rely on your family and friends for support - that's what they're there for. :)

Forgot to add - try exploring the arts (if you haven't already.. you sound like an artist.) I find making art and music help get out all that c**p in my head into something more material that I can look at, and examine.. a meditation, of sorts. A long walk inward, if that makes sense.. really helps clear the head. Share your creations with people, or keep them to yourself, like a diary. I do both, personally. Very good for the soul to have some work that no one will ever see. :)

  2. This actually sounds alot like a mix of different problems, Bipolar disorder, the eating could be caused by depression sometimes when people are depressed they eat more or they don't eat at all. If you have troblem concentrating and get forgetful that could be ADD...

But in all honesty I think next time you have a doctors appointment you should bring it u with your doctor. And get a note pad or book and every time you feel like you are happy write down why and the opposite if your angry write down why..The easiest way to solve eating problems is keep a food journal and wrote down everything you eat, eating alot is not un-healthy it is actually better for you just eat "good choices" carrots and veggies to snack on. The will power gose back to depression i would really consider seeing a doctor to provid you with a better answer...I know alot about depression because i was onced depressed and seen doctors about it.. it is very hard to deal with and can make you do wired things cause our body to be sluggish, makes it so you don't wanna do anything really...The talking to yourself it isnt healthy but everyone dose it, it can come from being alone for extended periods of time, my suggestion is get involved with things around your community to surpass the board um of whats making you talk to yourself or go to www.stickem.com it is a good chat room to talk to people about all sorts of things...Most of all talk to people who have the same things as you look up and research online things that you do find out who to talk too about it and what too do.

  3. Sounds to me that you lifestyle overall is not very healthy

im sure if u ate clean (no junk food)

and excercised u would have less of these symptons go see a doctor who can refer you to a nutritionist and a gym where you can get a program set up thats right for you

and it sounds like you can get pretty emotional

so maybe it is a result of not being healthy, as a result ur hormones might be out of wack

  4. It could be ADD. It could also be a lot of other things. ADD takes a professional to diagnose it... it is never a good idea to diagnose yourself. I've noticed that there are a lot of articles and news stories about ADD. Autism is another one, it's like these things are faddish. Next month, it,ll be Toenail Biter's Syndrome or something.

See a dr. or another prof. to get tested.

  5. some of it sounds like adhd but not enough of it can relate back to it.

to be honest it sounds most likely to Bipolar disorder. its not what everyone makes its out to be so you dont have to be to concerned or think that it could not possibly be it.. but i would just consider discussing it with a parent you feel close to.

  6. exactly like me if u wanna talk we can pistons1123@yahoo.ca

  7. Just do something ...it doesn't matter what.

Maybe you have a imbalance of glucose

    that's what it sounds

    hypo glucemic.

  8. Sounds like raging teenager hormones are abounding.

Plus you may have a low self esteem problem,  did something traumatic happen to you as a child?

Do you seem different than your friends, you may have trouble making friends because you talk nervously about nothing interesting.

I think everyone talks to themselves and no one knows it.

But if I was you I would evaluate my childhood but don't over think things like you have a tendency to do.

  9. You are me... sorta... I have bi-polar(manic depression) and ADHD... also Borderline personality Disorder is a label I feel could also be me. Look for the book "I hate you, Don't leave me". It was a true help in learning to manage my illness' many years before I was diagnosed Bi-Polar. On the average, people are misdiagnosed for 10 years or more before Bi-polar is found. The pills you need for this illness are not the ones most people are given for years. ADHD is controlled well on medication.

As is manic depression when they finally get the real label on  the chart. Remember God gives us things to go through so our true destiny can shine through... Be you... God don't make JUNK!

       God Bless You,  Joni

  10. It can be hard to make friends unless you chat to people and get friendly with them.

If you wish to make stories up, then I suggest that you write the stories down so that you are able to read which one of them might make a good book one day.

If you find it hard to concentrate, then I suggest that you keep a task list or a diary and keep on top of things.  Listen while the teacher is talking and take notes.

I suggest that you find out what other people are interested in talking about and keep on topic.

Get more exercise, see if you have a friend who will run around the block with you in the afternoon.

The other things are normal for a teenager to experience.
