no. like any activity,  if it draws interest, it will continue. if it does not, it will go away.

It's probably a sign of two things:

1. An uncertain economy.

2. A lack of available education.

I think the problem is more that we are constantly looking outside ourselves and our own experiences for entertainment. We've all got a case of jealousy, wanted to live vicariously through the TV stars, reality shows, talent competetors, sports competetors, etc. We do this instead of inventing our own adventures and being satisfied: not feeling the NEED to live through another's experiences. But since there is an increasingly high demand for more and more entertainment....it'll never stop! Ah!
